Hi mari!
I am so glad to hear that you slept all day.
a bag of lettuce is alot of lettuce how do you do that?
I can only stomach about a cereal bowls worth of salad, greens, tomatoes, celery, carrots. i use paul newmans low calorie, balsalmic vinegrette.
it is very good!
I just bought some diet tonic water to drink instead of beer.
Gin and tonics don't have any carbs....and about 100 calories a drink.
I figured it out last night I drank 1,000 calories after dinner.
that is how fattening my beer is....:(...
anyway
We had talapia with a cream sauce, fresh asparagus and a salad for dinner. I made the cream sauce because I was bored with how we always fix it....2 blueberry beers....they are almost gone....

and now the fact is that I will obcess about food and will drive you all crazy!!!!!!!!

My plan is as follow so far... what do you think ??

-Mari's breakfast...
-Bizi's subway as lunch...

Dinner !? who has a good dinner !? :o

for the subway use the spicy mustard instead of mayo
and pile on the veggies(spinach instead of ice berg for more nutrients)
I like the jalepinos peppers to give it a zip!

I think chicken white, skinless is the lowest calorie meat except for fish.
if you are going to use an oil use olive oil it is good for you.
try the spray on pam instead.
when you eat salad you have to watch the salad dressings! they can be so fattening!!!!!!!
don't drink any calories when you are dieting...the body does not recognise these as food so they don't fill you up.
plain water is the best. watch the number of diet drinks that you consume...it is so easy to say the right words about dieting and so hard to do the right thing.....and follow thru.
good luck to us all!

Dear Beth,
It is ok to "obsess" about food -- especially when one is starting a new plan.

If you cannot eat a bag of lettuce at one setting, you can eat salad three or four times a day.

Subway and the Talapia with asparagus sounds good.
Hubby would probably cook the Talapia with garlic. (He also adds either tumeric or cumin to lots of foods.)

I think I am going to heat up some rice and melt a little cheese over it in the microwave.

I just relogged into www.sparkpeople.com... of my stuff is still there from the last time that I was dieting.
here we go again.....I am going to get it right this time!
For a foodie like myself, dieting is all about sacrificing....
I must look at it differently.

Beth,

Oh, I forgot about Spark People.
That's a good web site.
:)
You can still be a foodie -- just smaller amounts.

THis morning I had a slice of my husbands friendship bread/cake and coffee with real cream.
I had the best soup for lunch.
progresso cheesey chicken enchilada, 2 cups =340 calories and filled me up! I also had a large necterine...so that probably made it almost 500 calories. a glass of water with some diet cranberry juice to flavor it.
WE shall see how long it holds me over....
I have not officially started my diet yet...still have a few beers left.
but am trying to find easy choices for lunch, I can't have subway everyday.
I was going to fix some eggs with cheddar cheese but we were out of eggs!
I have yet to decide which diet I will follow.
low carb or calorie counting....hard to decide.....
I better get back to work.

Dear Beth,
I need to go buy some more produce tomorrow too.
We don't have much summer squash or zucchini in the stores. Did you notice? And tomatoes are more expensive than usual because cold weather in Jan wiped out some of S. FL's tomato crop.

If Subway works for you, can't you have lunch there as much as you want? Especially as you are transitioning to a new lifestyle?
