Thanks Bizi, I have just paid off the one thing that would show up on my credit report that I know of and I feel much better, like it's going to be okay. I am worried still but paying off the four year old phone bill NOW might help in time to get us in a new place. I am so sick of this gut wrenching anxiety, it was so nice when the beta blocker worked but its too much for my stomach. My blood pressure has been fine too, up and down but not overly high or low so it's better that I take one less med. I am so lucky to have friends here who care and let me vent when I need it. You all are awesome!

Yes it did, I haven't had the extra cash to get it done for years. Finally getting a head a little bit. And it feels good! Now if only we could score a home loan....LOL! That would be better then renting a new house, but hopefully things will get better and we'll be in a position to get a home loan in a year and move for the final time into a nice house. Oh a girl can dream....

I hate moving, too! We've moved a lot in the last few years.

A couple of minor things on your credit report shouldn't prevented you from being accepted... most places look for evictions, non-payments of rent, and bankruptcy.

Dear Pam,
Talk to a mortgage broker. Mortgages have gotten harder in recent years but banks are still approving them -- as long as you are willing to put up with tons of paperwork.

'Sorry to hear about news of the move. I wish you could stay where you are are. It's going to be ok . . .. but I wish it could be better. You know what I mean I hope.

Also check into the loans with organizations that help first time home owners.
THat also have low amounts of income. THere are some in every state I believe.

I meant that renting shouldn't be a problem, but now that you mention it...
1 medical bill shouldn't prevent you from getting a loan.

As Mari mentioned, sit down with a mortgage lender and ask what mortgage payment is reasonable for you and your family based on how much income you have and how many other financial obligations.
Once your lender "pre-approves" you for a certain purchase price range, you can start looking.
Payments are lower if you can put some money down and have high credit scores. Those kind of mortgages are easier to get approved- unless you qualify for one of the special programs out there where there is more leeway.

You never know until you try!
