sorry for the stupid question but... i'll toss it out, and let you (and maybe the lab techs tomorrow) do the math: don't we need to observe "typical" fluid intake to have a meaningful Li+ level drawn? i mean if you are having to pump fluids your Li+ level would not reflect what it would be, on a typical day.... but would be lower i would think... ~ waves ~ |

that sounds like terrible pain management. I am sorry you are in such pain.  I don't know how you do it.... so glad that you were able to talk with your old therapist!!!!!!  bizi

I'm happy I got to see my tdoc too!!!
When she asked when I want to come back, my choices were 1 or 2 weeks because of the depression, s/s thoughts, and how much crap I have going on right now. I picked 2 weeks.I got up early to go to the hospital today. I had my ultrasound, but didn't drink 32 oz. of water because I didn't feel like wetting myself and I told the tech exactly that. I'm sure they got the images they need anyway. I saw some of the images, and it looks like I have a really big cyst, but I don't know how to read those things- for all I know, it could have been my uterus! Then I had my lithium level drawn. Waves, they never mention anything about fluid before lithium labs, or at all really. I drank the normal amount of fluid today anyway. I take aleve everyday, and I know I have to keep that intake steady so it doesn't lead to lithium toxicity... I'm probably going to be in pain for the rest of my life, and if I start taking narcotics now, I'd soon be immune to many drugs, requiring higher and higher doses, stronger and stronger meds, and probably would become addicted. So, no narcotics, my choice. And because of NSAID/lithium issues, tramadol is pretty much the only choice. I guess it's better than nothing. UGH! It sucks though. I hope when the baclofen builds up in my system, it helps relieve some pain.... I'm hanging my hat on that, but I'll probably need a heavier dose. Let's see what the neuro Dr. ***** Face thinks... In other news, I'm off the antibiotics the gastro prescribed, and am taking align as she recommended. No more diarrhea, but now I'm constipated. I could troubleshoot on my own (as I'm used to it), but I guess I should call her office... |

So, I looked up ultrasound photos and what I saw was definitely a cyst. I guess they're still there, but I have no idea if they've grown or shrunk.

Dear Bizi,
I have no idea when I'll get the results of the ultrasound. That office is terrible. I'll call them in a week. I hope the 2 cysts have shrunk a little or stayed the same. So yesterday was the 3rd anniversary of my MS diagnosis. It seems like it's been longer than that, but it also feels like it's been less time... Despite all that's been going on recently MS-wise, how much it has taken away from me, and how much pain it has caused me... I just felt flat. I thought about things but- No pity party. I didn't grieve. I think the MS has beaten me into submission. |
