Thanks! Well Jackie's patch is SEWN ON! I spent FOUR HOURS today and got it ALL done! He loves it! I am so happy it came out really good looking too. And of course I tried it on, and WOW it felt great! So happy I got a second patch on the way. Matching Jean Jackets will make Jackie really happy I think.

Thanks bizi, I know it but it's always good to hear. I told him while he sat with me watching and listening to Def Leppard with me as I sewed, "Mom and Dad were kids once, we understand how much having a cool jacket means to you son, we hope you enjoy this." and he nodded. We went through two batteries on the MP3 player! LOL!!!

Now I did get some bad news tonight, just got off the phone with Mom and she's told me that she's having to have her parathyroid out, that she's got crystalization in her heart valves and that it's stealing calcium from her bones....So needless to say I am worried.

I hope she's going to be okay, it definitely doesn't sound good.

I'm not sure how the crystallization in the heart valves relates, but your mom's parathyroid problem may not be too serious, Pam.

Last year I had a pronounced calcium loss, & sure enough one of my parathyroids (we have four) had gone rogue. They scheduled removing it--after they found it. Finding it is often the most difficult part of the procedure. Although they begin at roughly the 2, 4, 8, & 10 o'clock positions around the thyroid, as the years & decades pass they roam around, who knows where? So they must find them, then remove them. If they can locate her bad one, the rest ought to go without complication.

I had a great doc. Did my homework. Had my health care surrogates paying attention too. Surgery went well, no complications. Got my calcium back !

My thoughts are with you both.

Thanks for posting BlueCarGal, I am not sure about the crystals in her heart valves either, but I am just scared for her. Glad to hear it's not that bad of a surgery and that you're better now.
