Hi Bobby

I was again sad to hear the cost of your medications is out of control. I had the same thing happen, and I went to Canada in protest with a train of 50 other hurting souls. Write to your local congressman, and write to each of the drug companies directly. Many have a program that can get your scripts for free, or at a reduced price. Not too many people have tried this but it works. My doctor wrote a letter also, and that with my letter, got some of these companies to respond. This country does not bargin with drug companies like Canada does. There is also a consumer advocasy group, that fights these issues. If you feel like joining this group and the fight, there is no charge. Mostly sign petitions to get the pharmacy industry to stop inflation.
The cost of my meds. before I got Medicare/medicaid, broke the bank, and destroyed all my savings. This is cruel to to do folks. good luck, and I hope you write the companies directly for help. ginnie

Bobby

I think you need to definately look into a alternative plan for getting
your medicines. I am sorry the humana walmart plan has given you
such a run a round.

But I believe you have found the reason for lots of your anxiety and
loss of sleep too. Please keep us posted.

Dear Bobby,

The hassle you describe in getting your meds is awful. I wish that this were easier and cheaper.

thank you Donna
i think i am going to apply to the program i posted the url to and forgot about the humana walmart plan except for a few drugs. yesterday i sent in an application to the pharmacy that manufactures risperdal to see if i can get it for free. yesterday i was feeling so much bipolar pain from the depression. i am also upset because ralph, one of the fellows who sits at the luncheon table is leaving for Haiti for three months. yesterday he told me i looked sexy. he always comes out with funny things. he is a very young eighty. he calls our table the millionaire's table and tells people who try to sit their that. when we run out of water or gravy he goes gets it. he usually goes to the center at seven in the morning and sets up all the tables and goes there on saturday too to work in the kitchen. he is a real doll. Most of his children from his first marriage live in Haiti.
I hope today is a better day. I also ate a lot yesterday which i am upset about. I am sure i gained a pound. it is not about vanity but about the ability to walk more.
bobby really depressed

i am furious about the generic klonopin. humana walmart said if i can get it there even though it is not in the program it would cost about five dollars. I forgot how much it would cost at the other place but certainly a lot less than at my local pharmacy.

i used to buy drugs from Canada before they had medicare part d. I also used to get free topamax and risperdal and i forgot what else. it looks like i will have to try to go that route. I am so sad that new york state changed its epic program where my drugs cost 3 dollars each.

In 2010 my husband had a major heart attack. We didn't have any insurance. His medication was over $600 a month. I contacted each of the manufactorers of the medications and got them to send me paperwork for people with low or no income and no insurance. It took about 2 months after filling out the paperwork but he recieved his medication every month for a year for free through the mail. I know that most of the major companies offer such programs please check into the company that manufactor the medication. Call them, explain to them that you HAVE to have this medication and you dont have insurance. Talk to your docotrs office, sometimes they have samples they can give you until the papers are processed. I also found some discount "coupons" from the pharmacy at CVS that took one of his meds from 135 to 32. Sorry you are going through this and I hope you get some anwers and your medications soon.

Hi Bobby

Good for you Bobby! keep those letters going! I so hope they will respond to you in a compassionate way. It did work for me. I received Kadian, which is a pain killer, and my anti-depressant for free for the several years before I was approved for medicare. I hope they will be good to you and allow you to receive the med. you need. I know you are depressed, and I do know that feeling. I am thinking about you, and hoping for the best resolution. the pharmacy companies should be ashamed of themselves for putting people into such horrible situtions financially. You are in my thoughts and prayers. ginnie

The cost of medications is alarming.
Thank goodness I have good insurance, I think I told you before my geodon is over $500 a month and now my acne medication is the same.
It is a racquet.
I am sorry that you are having to go thru this...it will be worth your effort once you are settled.
((((HUGS))))
