DEPRESSED and tired

Hi,

I started noticing I was depressed on Monday when I considered leaving work and coming home. That was an un-usual moment for me. (I stayed for the day.)

Today (Tuesday) the whole day was that moment stretched out to an entire day of bleakness and sadness. I went to work for a meeting and came home and did nothing. I bugged hubby to cook something. Then I watched one tv show that usually is safe to watch. Tonight the episode was happy. Still it made me sad.

music --- not helping

Ohhhhh! :mad:May the gods in heave help me.
I put on a classical music:confused: station. Beethoven's Fifth and is long and depressing. I need something to do between now and when I force myself to sleep.

Dear mari, sorry that the music was not helping you. What usually works?

The only thing that works is Klonopin that blocks the anxeity to help me get over my fear of sleep. When I am depressed I need to sleep but I am not comfortable going to sleep on purpose.

Saint Patrick's Day

Last Sunday, when I went out to the store, I ran into the Saint Patrick's Day greeting cards display and started crying. A year ago, work colleague died the day before Saint Patrick's Day. My colleague identified as Irish so this went together in my head somehow.

Since Sunday I have been thinking about his wife and son. I sent her an email but not have heard back from her. Maybe I will make one phone call in case she picks up.

I think that is a good idea.
You're are still grieving and so is she......I am sure she would appreciate your call.
I am sorry it hurts.

Dear Mari,

i agree with Bizi, that it is likely she will appreciate some empathic contact. If she doesn't want to talk, she won't pick up. I would leave a message though, in case she isn't home... just basically letting her know you called and that you'd welcome a call from her if she feels like it (or whatever you feel is appropriate to say).

(((((((((((hugs)))))))))))

i am sorry for your loss Mari. :( Anniversaries are hard.
