The last time that I quit drinking was for lent, that was 40 days and boy did I count down those days...I remember easter having a drink at exactly 12am.
WE went to see a play last night called off the streets. a play about these women and their own personal experiences with their own demons. they work with acadiana out reach. at the end of the play they each went around and said their names and stated how many days they had been clean and sober. Very powerful! Afterward we had some gelato and walked downtown for a bit then headed home to watch an episode of "the ex-files" we are on season 4 right now so that is our new thing...there were 9 seasons so that will keep us entertained for a good while.
So far it has been easy not drinking easier than I thought it would be.
That is a good thing.

I was 28 when I was able to stop drinking alcohol. My mind was on alcohol allot up to that point. Now I'm in my fifties,and still dry. I received God's strength to stop.

Now I get council,and take medications. The medications are different then they use to be. BF

I am planning a surprise birthday party for jeff for next week...am getting all worked up over it only about 10-12 total, going to be at the texas road house. I spent $$$ on cup cakes to be sent to his work place to share with his colleagues then will arrange balloons for the tables a girl friend is going to help me set up ahead of time.....anxiety!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mari This is sound wisdom. Things like this will be forgotten down the road. What is really important. The mind is tricky. It will rationalize most anything as being O K. Bizi We will be here for you. I sympathize with you about the anxiety. Dealing with the anxiety in a healthy way is imperative. You will learn a whole new set of skills that will be stepping stones to continued health,and strength. BF

It is his 50th and I did not have anything planned for his birthday. I am taking a cruise with my sisters for my 50th in feb(I am a new years twin!). He finally told me he wanted a keyboard, a nice one. So that is what he is going to get for himself. I am so happy about that. I had been after him for months about this.
I snacked after coming home because I was hungry and forgot he was coming home late. After cooking dinner (I cooked spicy lemon pepper talapia, and a big salad) we went for a walk, I will go to the gym tomorrow and shower there. I got a hair cut this past saturday, she cut 3 inches off, I like it. It lays off my shoulders now almost to my chin like my avatar picture.
When jeff came home I told him how anxious I was and wanted a drink, he said "you could have some and I would not tell anybody."
I was mad...I turned around and said that is not helping me.
He doesn't understand.
I don't think that I am an alcoholic I just think I have a drinking problem.
I tried to explain and I think he gets it now.
