1. Can you call your insurance and ask about a new therapist? They seem to have a good and fairly fast response system, even if the calls are a hassle.

2. Might your accupuncturist be able to relieve enough tension to help ease you out of these feelings? Sometimes they can be transient.

3. Your old therapist already got freaky deaky, so I can understand not wanting to see her. I recall that she freaked because she saw something or interpreted something as having similar inclinations as the thoughts you describe now. For a good while, you seemed to feel helped by her. I don't know if you'd consider just calling her up... and... well... she might be able to fit you in rather quickly. :o

4. There is your new psychiatrist. Do you feel you could call her? Maybe she could get you in quickly with a therapist colleague? Some pdocs also do therapy themselves... maybe she could be a transition therapist?

Sending healing thoughts to you. :circlelove:

Waves,

The band aid/ bandage is a great idea!
I can buy some on the way home.
Wearing long sleeves to work today did not work because they sort of self-rolled up when I moved around.
I will have to try to find a long sleeve shirt in my closet.

1. I Can call the insurance comp tomorrow but I am not in a hurry to deal with a new tdoc. I probably saw 20 over the last 25 years. Only two were decent and I include the last one in that group of two.

2. The acupuncturist is tired of me. . . cannot see her.

3. I will not my see the old Tdoc. I cannot trust her.

4. I cannot freak out a new pdoc. I finally found one after looking since May. She did tell me to double my Lamictal to 50 and to split doses to 25 in am and 25 in pm---- dunno how I can do the split doses with sleep side effects.
I might try going up to 37.5 or 50 over the week end.

I will call the insurance comp Thursday
M.

Hi Mari

Dear Mari,

Glad you are going to try the bandage. I hope that will "pad" things for you. ;)

Yeah, I didn't really think seeing the old T would be an attractive prospect to you, nor that you'd want to get into this matter with the new pdoc. It's ok. I am sorry that you feel the accupuncturist is tired of you, though. I confess, I had hopes there!

Good about setting wheels in motion with insurance, for a new T. I do get the frustration with seeing T's who don't work out, or who only work out until the going gets murky. I wish you lots and lots of good luck with this undertaking, and that you randomly get referred to someone who can work out.

Thanks for posting back. Keep putting one foot in front of the other.:hug:

Oh, with the Lamictal, you could at first go up to 37.5 or 50 mg all at night, if you feel more comfortable with that. Then, next weekend, you could try splitting the doses one night, to see if doing that could improve things (it might), rather than make them worse. Using divided doses, peaks will tend to be lower, but you'll only know by trying which schedule works best for you personally.

Waves,

At 9:30 pm tonight (Wednesday) I took 37.5.
I had done that before so I felt comfortable.
I need sleep. I hope that this does not make sleep worse like I did the last time I did this.

I forgot that things did not work out with your last tdoc...I remember now that she freaked out on you....not good.
sorry I suggested it.
I do like the idea of you getting a new one, maybe her office can reccomend one for you but going thru your insurance company is likely to produce some one close to you on your insurance...easier that way.
good luck tomorrow.
I wish you felt better, and am sorry that you don't.

Waves and Bizi,

I am not interested in a tdoc.
It is not a format that works for me.

Mari

I have no ideas other than to talk to us. Or find someone on the net when you need to talk. And see if they can talk to you. This is a way that
might help you.

Or maybe if you can find a friend that could listen and be there. Maybe that
would help.

I know when I am having problems everyone here listening sure helps me.

But I also know this is a different kind of need.

Thank you.

I did sleep. I think I slept five and a half hours.

I woke up once durning the night and stayed still and fell back asleep.

When the alarm went off, I felt hung over but less than yesterday,

50 mgs and not sleepy

Friday night I took 50 mgs of Lamictal and watched music on youtube and then old episodes of The West Wing on Netflix.

Not sleepy.
Maybe I will feel like napping on Saturday and have good reason to make the cleaning lady let me sleep / work around me. (Sometimes her presence makes me clean, esp laundry but laundry is caught up.)

In preparation for the next (4th?) season of Downton Abbey they are starting Season 1 next weekend on my local PBS. I liked the first season. Maybe it will be fun to watch it even if I probably saw each episode of that season three times already.

Mari

bizi 10-05-2013 08:38 AM

WE started watching the series again last week. this is our 4th time...lol

Enjoy rewatching Downton Abbey... as well as the new season. For really good shows, even the reruns are timeless. Here, they haven't given us Season 3 here yet, let alone 4! Oh well...

The acting in Downton Abbey is so good. My favorite is Maggie Smith as Violet Crawley, who was also fabulous as McGonagall in Harry Potter.

Mari, I sure hope you get to rest rather than clean today!!!:hug::hug:

Dan Stevens

:I-Agree:

Waves,

I am sooooo glad you watched Season I and Season 2. We can talk about that.

And how about Lord Grantham's yellow Labrador in the opening credits? So cute . . .

Maggie Smith is marvelous. She can act without even have something to say although her quips are so delicious: What is a weekend?

I mostly watched the clothes and jewlery and even the makeup.
I found stories about how they recyle costumes from other period movies. And I watched some PBS shows about the mansion the director uses to film the "upstairs" scences (A nutty rich couple lives there). The "downstairs" shows are filmed on a lot/ set somewhere near/in London.

Matthew!! OMG. :circlelove: I love Dan Stevens. :trampoline:I even went on line to read a couple years of his tweets (Don't do that if you do not want to be spoiled.)

Do you remember that Elizabeth McGovern did American movies here in her 20s? I believe she married a brit director and producer. She is one of the weakest actors in season 1 but I like watching for her version of her accent. She is certainly American but the accent has morphed to be more British after living over twenty years in London and raising children.
I love listening for the accents and how the director uses them to show character/ class . . .

Season 1 and 2 Downton Abbey

“Don’t be defeatist, dear. It’s very middle class.” Violet Crawley to Edith, S2E8
--- This one is perhaps my absolute favorite.

“Sir Richard, life is a game in which the player must appear ridiculous.” Violet Crawley, Last Episode, Christmas at Downton Abbey.

“1920. Is it to be believed? I feel as old as Methuselah.” Violet Crawley, Last Episode, Christmas at Downton Abbey.

This one from Lady Grantham
“I’m an American, I don’t share your English hatred of comfort.” Cora Crawley to Lord Grantham, S2E6

This one from Lord Grantham
“I want a good man for you, a brave man. Find a cowboy in the Middle West and bring him back to shake us up a bit.” Robert Crawley to daughter Mary. Last Episode, Christmas at Downton Abbey.

waves 10-05-2013 02:20 PM

Hi, Mari,

I've actually only seen tiny bits of Season 1 and probably more than half of Season 2. There haven't been reruns so I don't have a strong recollection of it, other than for basic plot status for the various goings on, and some of the characters.

Maggie Smith made an impression on me. And I agree that she needs no words to act... her poise and facial expressions are so evocative.

I remember some of the quotes you gave. The defeatist one is great! :D It sounds familiar but I'm not actually sure I saw that episode. The thing is, I can just hear her saying that. LOL.

Lamictal update

Hi,

I took 50 mgs of Lamictal Saturday (two nights in a row of 50).
I am getting the wormy things in my ear right now.

A few months ago when I saw my sleep doc (a neuro) I mentioned the paresthesia and he asked if I had tried to lower the lamictal dose and then come back. . . and such.
I asked him if that works sometimes and he said yes.
So I will keep hope alive.

The cleaning lady did a great job! She likes it when one of us cooks for her. I made 15 bean soup but without the store bought seasoning that comes with the package. I sautéed onioins and garlic separately in walnut oil. Near the end I added tumeric and dashes of pepper and cumin (very light on the cumin).
Then I cut up and put on plates whatever was fresh in the fridge: cucumbers, tomatoes, and avocados . . . . . and served them with some store bought hummus.

And yes, I felt like I was working all day what with the kitchen and the laundry and trying to keep up with her as she moved from room to room knowing I had to deal somewhat with paperwork before she got to it and potentially made a mess of my scattered papers.
Hubby and I are more relaxed when things are neat and tidy and I feel better knowing it is a bit cleaner than usual around here.

M

bizi 10-06-2013 10:23 AM

I am happy that you have someone that you trust and that hubby agrees for her to come in and help you. It is nice that you cooked for her.
I wish hubby would agree to having someone come in....sigh

Hubby

Believe me when I tell you that it takes a lot of my energy to make Hubby feel ok about her coming.

He mostly trusts her personally but when he is grouchy he complains that she does not do good work, that her coming once a month costs us money, . . . .

Yes, I know that feeling. Tidy on the outside helps me feel "tidier" ... more peaceful ... on the inside. When my surroundings are chaotic, I feel more chaotic.

Enjoy your evening and hopefully get some rest! :)

Do it yourself (DIY) art

Hi,

I saw this picture on Facebook.
With different colored items like red beans and green lentils, it would make a nice decoration for Christmas in my office or at home. I almost think I could do something like this.
(People I know like Christmas much better than Halloween.)
I might make the cleaning lady help me with this next moth. Ha. That way I can be sure to complete the project.
===
Oh, and I have enough sense to FREEZE the items as soon as I buy them so that weevils do not grow in the jar -- that would be gross and the wrong idea of a pleasing decorative item.

I walked out of a meeting and it was not pretty

Hi,

Here is how things went:
In a meeting, the bossed announced a stupid bad thing.

~I spoke up. I was semi polite.

Boss said nothing. She kind of nodded and shook her head at the same time.
She asked if I had alternatives.

~I reminded her of past meetings in which the alternatives had been discussed and settled.

Then the boss said something else about the bad thing.

~I got up and walked to the door.

Boss said I need people to stay.

~I said, "I gotta go. I'm sorry."

I am concerned that this is becoming a pattern between her and me.
Also I wish that I could get up and leave a meeting whenever I want. That seems like the best thing for me to do some days.

Mari

Then I went to my night class.

Late Wednesday afternoon, one of my colleagues APPLAUDED me in the hall for leaving the meeting Tuesday even after I had been told to stay.

He even remembered an obnoxious aside I said.
Someone in the meeting had said something like,"To make a long story short, . . .

~I had interrupted by saying, "Too late."

I think I might have been obnoxious. :Head-Spin:

OCT 4 to OCT 12 -- 9 doses at 50 mgs Lamictal

I started taking 50 mgs Lamictal on Friday, October 4.
Saturday / tonight (October 12) was night nine on this dose.

I do now know what benefits I get from it, but I am getting used to the downsides -- head fog and such.

That is all the pdoc prescribed -- so I do not have to worry about raising the dose.
She did ask me to split the dose to 25 am and 25 pm so I might try that next weekend.

M

Dmom3005 10-13-2013 10:18 AM

I think the brain fog might get better if you can split the dosage.

Not positive, but I know I take 25 and 25 and it helps me.

I realize I take it for anxiety.
