so you are just going to keep on taking the 50mg for longer than 2 weeks? no increase? it is really just 2 extra days at 50mg is fine really and I know that slower is better for you. Any significant side effects?

confused about pdoc appointment date

Hi Mari,

I am confused about your numbers here and there, so it is hard to be sure about arithmetic. First I will address your dates.

That is the current today! I kind of don't think you have a pdoc appointment today, because it is only one week from (link) your post of Tuesday August 6th, wherein you describe your most recent visit, stating that pdoc would see you "in 2 weeks". Today is just one week.

Your pdoc appointment should be next week, sometime, maybe:

Monday August 19th? or
Tuesday August 20th - (exactly 2 weeks from post)

If you recall having an appointment (his or another) August 13th (today), please check your notes.
Maybe you have an appointment elsewhere?

8 days from this posting would be next Tuesday (August 20th). That would also fall exactly 2 weeks from the last pdoc-visit-post, so it seems likely you see pdoc Tuesday August 20th?

The safest assumption I can make is that you still needed to take a full 50mg for the day you posted, which would leave you with a current count of 14 pills, or 7 full days' worth of Lamictal.

You are covered through Monday, August 19th.

On Tuesday August 20th you would be out.

Even with an additional day's worth, it would still be tight.

Hence my suggestion to get the refill as soon as you can.

I posted BEFORE taking the Lamictal. I take all the Lamictal at night.
I will call Pharmacy when I wake up but I do not expect the insurance company to renew until a few days from now. If I get the refill in two or three days, that might be enough leeway untiil I see him on Tuesday / August 20.

Yes, I think this is a good idea. Maybe they can put the order in ahead of time so it will be sure to come in on the 16th (Friday). It sucks that there is a weekend in the middle there. If nothing else, I would call or go to the pharmacy on Friday.

If you waited until Tuesday to go to the pharmacy -- even with a fresh new script, they might have some problem like being temporarily out and asking you to pick up the next day. In that case, you would not have a dose to take on Tuesday.

I am still a bit concerned that you might have some appointment with somebody else today, Tuesday August 13th. :o That is because you mentioned this date specifically.

Sometimes a date will stick in my mind... usually that means the date is significant somehow, i.e. it corresponds to some appointment or deadline.

I have no appt today/August 13. My next appt with anyone is August 20.
I did make a notation in my calendar to call the pharnacy today/ August 13 in case they will refill. I expect that that insurance will want me to wait a few more days.

my pharmacy will no longer allow me to get my meds a few days earlier than every 30 days. That is stressful to me. I did not even think about the weekends. Or what if I am on vacation.just some more for us to worry about. my pharmacy is open on the weekends...I forgot until just now.
I got my pdoc to order me more klonipin to take during the day as I told her that I was taking more. Not true I just wanted a back up so that I never have to worry about running out.
I too agree that you should get the prescription refilled on the 15th they would allow that.
