Checking in on you Steve. Glad the mix was a minimal for you, has the snow slowed at all? We are in a lull with another 6-8" after super courtesy of Steve's system. We have 8" so far....but also no ice so the power is okay so far. Tonight the change to heavy coastal winds and heavy blowing snow. Dh has work at midnight, ds at 4:00am.
I'm in for the next two days. Bizi, I see a warm up headed for you next week with above norm temps. I hope it doesn't rain with all this snow cover up here. |
We have received about 10,to 11 inches of snow, and sleet. My car is stuck. I have a Pontiac that is low in the front end for arrow dynamics in the wind from the factory. It has some kind of wind shields in front of the tires, and motor. It doesn't work in the snow. I love my Grand Am though. I have what I need though. A snow plow has left a wall of snow in my driveway. Oh well. It's no big deal. BF:hug::hug::hug:

That is my wish -- that everyone is careful. M |
I am so far out in the country that if there is a life threatening emergency, they send a helicopter. I heard sirens, and fire engines going down the road that I live on Monday night. It turned out that there was a single car accident down my road, and I heard the helicopter fly in. It takes about a half an hour driving,to 45 minutes depending on the traffic to get to the closest hospital. You cannot drive to fast also because there are allot of dear crossing the roads out here. They cause most of the accidents. Some people don't have a half an hour,to 45 minutes. It takes some time for the emergency crews to arrive at the scene of a accident also. BF:hug::hug::hug:

my aunt's house in a tiny town in upstate NY
Hi,
On Wednesday, My aunt and uncle's house burned down to the ground in a four alarm fire (from basement to attic). They are safe and staying at my cousin's house. Their pipes froze so my uncle tried to unfreeze the pipes by using a blowtorch. The house had been built about one hundred thirty years ago so it had no separation between the walls (like houses now a days do) and so the fire moved quickly. M |

I'm so glad your aunt and uncle are okay. Its a big problem around here too. We have many with frozen pipes. I will be posting on my facebook page to be extra careful after reading your comments. Donna :grouphug: |
Well we are having all kinds of weather.
On Tuesday it was negative -17 at one point, the -11, then -1. I don't honestly think we got on the other side. I know for some reason my husband is enjoying trying to go to work outside in this. So they his crew stayed for about 3 hours trying to get their generators and all working. But then after awhile they all as they had decided left. The foreman bought them breakfast. Then on Wednesday it was negative, then positive, but I don't know how high. I do think that was the day it got to 7 or 8. Then yesterday wow, we had a heat wave. It got to 20 then back down. Today right now its 14, I know its been colder. And not sure what we are expecting. I'm hoping next weekends weather is what they were predicting for us. Derrick and lots of others are doing the Polar Plunge at Purdue on the 22nd of February. Brrrr I'm more than pleased to only be a virtual plunger. I just wish I'd been able to raise more than $150 for him. But with my need to get to $75 we did good. Donna :grouphug: |
Oh my gosh, we are getting the snow also.
Ugh, tell it to stop. Donna |
