Oh Mari how terrible! blow tourches are so bad for frozen pipes. Ds tried that once during the winter and I flipped. My bil burned the front room of the homestead where my beauty salon was located years ago. That home is well over 100 years too.
Glad they are safe, but it has to be so sad for them.

I have a portable heater that is like a hair dryer and we used that this week when the weather plummeted and froze the pipes. The heat tape failed agin, we need to replace it and home is only two years old, a modular.

I have 32" of snow on the ground, and it's snowing now. There are icicles hanging near 6' long. Sitting home today hoping it clears by this afternoon when the men are working.

6 foot! wow I remember that as a kid and us licking them, not that I think about it....yuck!

Cold here, but was a nice day.

Went to Cato's got a couple of shirts.

Then to the dollar tree, and wow.

I was in a mood to spend money.

I bought 44 or so of the webkins toy animals. for $1.00. Now these
are gifts for my co-workers. At our annual in-service.

And something, its looking like I made a mistake now.
I was going to a luncheon for a co-worker and all the sudden
my husband has decided to take off and go on vacation.

Except he doesn't believe me, and is trying to book,
New Orleans, itself. Looks like my Lafayette, isn't going to happen.
Until he can't get a hotel.

good luck with new orleans and the reservations. most french quarter hotels have a 4-5 day minimum. and book ahead of time so he is running late.

He found that out. And I knew it was going to be to much.

But it was okay, he needed to find it out himself.

So we will plan that for next year.

Back to my original plan just some much needed time to my self.

And after the last two days. I really think its so.

He is not in a good mood. We lost a tv last night because he got mad.

Who knows what else. And his mood hasn't changed.

I don't want to go anywhere with someone, I have to walk on shells with
to get along with.

I can sympathize with that feeling. All our vacations I walk on egg shells. If I forget and don't respond the way I am suppose to all he!! breaks loose.

He is just so argumentative. Last year just dd and I did Disney and it was great. I have not had work the last year like I use too. I ve needed to continually withdraw money from the settlement to pay bills and the taxes. I earned $3,300. He earned $11,000 over his Soc Sec and did not give me a dime. Calls it his vacation money yet he makes me pay for everything anyway.

Ugh, I hate to whine, but with the crappy weather I so look forward to the trip with dd. I have been working security for a few months now PT, standing on my feet for $9.00 an hour to take the trip....

The family just drained me with all they felt entitled to....:(
I need to have a break, my BFF is going on the cruise with us and I feel bad if she is exposed to the nasty treatment.
He does really nice things, it's just the flipping moods happen in a moment.

I had to shovel the cars out of 22" of snow Saturday while he slept in. My son that has the seizures tried to do what he could, but he got pasty looking and glassy eyes, I made him stop. The older son was hurting from working but used the tractor with the plow blade to try and push back snow so I could park the cars I had moved out.

I just leaned on the shovel heaving with my asthma and back hurting. Dummy me was in capris with no gloves, thought I was just moving cars until I saw ds. I got in the shower to warm up and cried, weeping from exhaustion and pain.

Dh ask me if I was okay, no I wasn't. Then wanted to know "why are you out there doing it, there are the boys to do it. If he didn't tell his nephew not to bother plowing us with the truck because we had the tractor I wouldn't have had to shovel at all!
Okay, guess it's the long winter......cabin fever, driving and working in sub freezing and this mess for peanuts making me sore.....sad, worn out.

Ugh, please Spring come soon!

You will enjoy the trip with your friend and daughter. And maybe thinking about it ahead of time is helping you with what you are dealing with right now. Florida will be kind to you as it has in the past.

I hope the snow lets up and that some people step up to help you.
