Default I think I will come down

I was supposed to rest yesterday yesterday and I couldn't. I made cookies, steamed the carpets, made photo albums, did all this stuff that wasn't required but it was a diversion from myself. At about 3 pm I took an Ativan and watched Duck Dynasty.....love that show. It was maybe going to storm--u fortunately. I think I need to brace myself for a tumultuous couple days, or at least be prepared.

My sister and her family are staying w my mom and dad. My mom provides (sometimes erroneous) top over for my sister and her husband. So I (like a jealous girlfriend/wife) get jealous and question everything to make sure I am not being left out. Man that takes me to the place I was when I was married to my abusive husband.

Anyway my sister and her husband are starting cross country today, I have an appt w my lawyer. I. Am getting my will, living will and power of attorney all updated. I don't have time time to negotiate the obstacles to try to say goodbye. I am ok w the efforts I have made to share time and it is enough.

I am feeling weird.

TBI,

You had a busy day -- what with all the baking and carpet cleaning and photo albuming. Yikes. You had lots of energy or as you say lots to work off.
At least that was a productive way to spend that energy.

Family does things to us.
I dunno what.

I have not done the will thing and I don't trust my husband to handle the living will thing. Maybe I should do both so that he will have an easier time of things if I go first. (He gets anxiety and freaks about making decisions.)
When I was single, I did not care one way or another what happened to what I left behind (mostly debts and maybe some life insurance via work).

How is it that paper work does not stress you out?
I would rather avoid it if at all possible.
In fact, in the four years I lived here, I only walked across the street twice to get the mail. Hubby handles that. I tell him to put it in a pile so I can ignore it.

Are you saying you are energetic right now and that you expect it to pass?
Maybe it is because of the lead up to the excitement about the retirement ceremony and the family visitors and events.

Remind yourself that you are doing well. In other words, find ways to praise yourself.

Mari,
I don't know what to expect day to day. Today I am super anxious because I have to go into D.C. To the Vet Hospital. I want to throw up just thinking about it. I have a ride, thank god. I meet my VA doc and I no longer have a primary care doc on base. Scary, change.

The will. Well the lawyer made me wait 45 min. Holy God, I can't handle waiting. When he finally called me I cried in his office. It was super easy. I filled it a form prior to and no husband, no kids, made it really easy. I was I. There for 20 min. They are going to draft it up and I will go in and sign it.

I bought a fire box a while ago for all of my important docs, banking, adoption, divorce decree etc...then I found an article on how to plan for your death so family doesn't have to figure it out. My accounts, debts, special money set aside for my nieces etc...I made files, put them in ziplock bags and loaded em up in the fire safe.

I think I am going to try not to put too much into my mood and just roll with it. I have been in mayhem w events, I am just going to let things simmer down and take care of myself the best I can.

I do anticipate depression, and anxious depression. Shoot, my ears are already ringing this morning.

As to how to track your posts, I figured I'd answer here to help ensure you see the information. Perhaps one or more of these tips will help you:

Option 1: Automatic Post Subscription:

(Drawback, your subscriptions will pile up. You stay subscribed permanently unless you go into your subscription options and manually unsubscribe. Turning off this setting does not unsubscribe you.)

You can change a single setting in your profile in order to be subscribed automatically to any thread you post to (including any new thread you start), and receive notification from the forum when subscribed threads are updated.

From any Neurotalk page:
  1. Click "UserCP" (leftmost link on horizontal menu, near top of page)
  2. Click "Edit Options" from the list on the left (entitled "Your Control Panel")
  3. Scroll down to the "Messaging and Notification" section.
  4. Go to the second option group, entitled "Default Thread Subscription Mode."
  5. Click on the dropdown box to change its value, choosing the form of notification you prefer.
  6. Finally, scroll all the way to the bottom of the page, and click the "Save" button. You must do this or your options will not be changed.

Option 2: Forum Subscription:

As an alternative to subscribing to each thread, you could subscribe to the forum. Doing this you can get an email periodically which tells you of any threads in the forum which have been added or changed.

From the page of the specific forum (thread listing) to which you want to subscribe:
  1. Find the header line, right above the sticky threads, that says "Threads in forum..."
  2. On that line, towards the right, you'll see a link that says "Forum Tools" -- click on that.
  3. From the dropdown menu, select "Subscribe To This Forum".
  4. In the page that opens, pick the notification type you prefer from the dropdown box.
  5. Finally, click on the "Add Subscription" to complete the process.
When you subscribe to any given forum, the notifications you get do not discriminate between the threads to which you've posted and those you've not, but you can tell that from the thread listing itself....

Option 3: Thread icons and tooltips:

In the thread listing, to the left of each title, there is a little icon that changes depending on how many replies are in the thread, whether you have posted to it, etc. The thread icon shows an arrow if you have posted to it.

Threads you've posted to also give you a tooltip when you pass your mouse over their icon. The tooltip will tell you "You have [number of] posts in this thread, last on [date you last posted]. (When you haven't posted to a thread, no tooltip comes up.)

No problem and if you forget again, ask and we'll remind you. There is also a a little legend to the thread icons. It is located below the list of threads, but if your monitor is like mine, it is off the display region -- I have to scroll down to see it.

I was actually worried about swamping you with info, especially option 1 which seemed the most cumbersome but at that point I'd already typed it and figured I'd just leave it and let you decide. Our minds all work different ways.

Hi,

I think about you when I try to make something in my slightly broken blender.
It was a good enough cuisinart until the "blend "function went out and I mostly do "chop" now.

Friday morning I chopped fresh strawberries and fresh spinach with flax seed, a touch of cinnamon, cocoa powder, and a mix of Coconut water and Almond milk (I vary the liquids based on what I have but usually keep the cinnamon and cocoa powder. Sometimes I add PB2 -- powdered peanut butter).

Do you have a favorite for your mornings or do you make variations?
