I definitely will post updated pics for sure Mari, next up will be the brown flannel all cut, and then I'll begin sewing blocks and post a picture of the sewn blocks, before they are stitched into rows of 11. This quilt will be 76" x 56" so just a little under a twin bed spread.

Thanks bobby! I am really impressed with myself too, it's coming along great so far!

Pam

I love all the creative things. I watch for this thread to have new names.

So I know there is a chance you posted something new.

I am looking forward to the updates too.

And I also didn't know about the creative forum. You need to post your
stuff there.

Thanks Donna! I don't have anything new to add yet, but tomorrow I will. My mother's walmart was the one who had the brown flannel in stock that I need for my quilt, once it's been prewashed, dried and cut into 28 6" strips and then those 28 strips cut into 6, 6" squares, I'll be ready to sew! It will end up being a pile as big as the leopard flannel pile. I really am enjoying the journey of the job of creating this rag quilt for myself.

I did post in the Any Quilters? thread but I am going to start my own here shortly.

Phew! I worked HARD today, we prewashed and dried two 5 ish yards of flannel today and cut down both! I have the blue yet to cut but I might not attempt that tonight. I might work on assembling the first quilt as we've finished all the cutting for that one. Just started the blue though because it was washed first. I have one of the 28 strips done into 6 6" squares, but the other 27 need doing. And then wash his puzzle fabric, dry it and strip it into 6" strips and then it'll be block time. Here's the denim and flannel as cut to to date.

Lotta work there, lotta work....But I've really enjoyed it!

Pam,
You have done a lot of work!
So the quilt will have three layers?

Do you have a tool to cut the fabric?

Yep! It's called a rotary cutter:

Can you tell I was happy to get it? Anyway, yeah, I can't seem to stop, I assembled the flannel layers and will add the denim to the 165 blocks I have. I really worked hard on it today.

Edited to add: I just got done assembling the denim blocks according to my plans and I will be sewing tomorrow! Hooray!

Wow Pam this is fantastic work.

I am so impressed.

I can't wait to see some of the progress. I think I'm more anxious
to see it just started like that.
