Has anyone tried Biotene for Dry Mouth. I have some from my dentist, but I haven't used it yet. I do get Dry Mouth because of my medicines at times.

Sometimes before I fall asleep,I can hardly swallow, and I reach over, and get my bottled water.

This has Xylitol which is super good for the teeth. I think that I will try it tonight. BF:hug::hug::hug:

What's striking to me is that carrageenan has no nutritional value," says Charlotte Vallaeys, director of farm and food policy at the Cornucopia Institute, an organic watchdog group that promotes family-scale farming. The organization has been critical of carrageenan's approved use in organics and recently launched a nationwide petition urging the FDA to ban the ingredient from the food supply.
Carrageenan is in several almond milk and coconut milk products and toms tooth paste. I will see if it is in hello which I am going to have to order on line, not at target either.

I bought gum with xylitol as a sweetener in my gum over the internet because I did not want the artificial sweeteners in my regular chewing gum.

I have used the spray steve, it works to moisten your mouth at night, good luck!

Xylitol occurs in nature, but can also be synthetic. No telling which you are getting. In my books it doesn't matter, but then I don't mind eating artificial stuff.

Quote:

Xylitol is produced by hydrogenation of xylose, which converts the sugar (an aldehyde) into a primary alcohol. It can also be extracted from natural sources, and is often harvested by tapping birch trees to produce birch sap. Another method of producing xylitol is through microbial processes, including fermentative and biocatalytic processes in bacteria, fungi, and yeast cells, that take advantage of the xylose-intermediate fermentations to produce high yield of xylitol.[13]
Regardless of whether natural or artificial, the chemical seems to have dental benefits:

Quote:

Early studies from Finland in the 1970s found compared to chewing sucrose-flavored gum, xylitol resulted in nearly two fewer cavities or missing teeth.[23] Cavity-causing bacteria prefer six-carbon sugars or disaccharides, while xylitol is non-fermentable and cannot be used as an energy source - while still being taken up into the cell (due to similar shape) and leaving no room for the six-carbon sugars, interfering with bacterial growth and reproduction. The harmful micro-organisms are starved in the presence of xylitol, allowing the mouth to remineralize damaged teeth with less interruption.
.
.
Xylitol also inhibits the growth of Streptococcus pneumoniae, as well as the attachment of Haemophilus influenzae on the nasopharyngeal cells.[22]

I buy a two pound bag of KAL Xylitol. It's safe, and I've talked to Bryanna about it. She recommended Xylitol for my teeth. On some website you can get a three pound bag cheaper, but I like the KAL Xylitol because it's dryer, and not sticky like some of the others. It's all natural, and the other ingredient is Calcium Silicate. BF:hug::hug::hug:

yes xylitol is good for your teeth!
It can cause diarrhea if you ingest too much.
I like my gum!
