Sometimes, it is necessary to say no. At times a "no" can be replaced with strategic questions to bring the other person around. Other times, it is simpler for everyone to be direct, and just get the goods on the table. This doesn't mean one must be rude, insulting, or even aggressive, but it does mean one must be assertive.

It's funny, because I've never taken the word "confrontation" to imply aggression, and yet, I've always taken the word "non-confrontational" to mean "without aggression". How's that for coherence. Lol.

"No, I am not going to take that med" is not confrontation.
I am not trying to clash with anyone. I am treating myself well.
I love and know myself more than anyone else does.
When I act with care for my needs, I feel comfortable about the communication.
