depressed at pdoc appt Thursday

I agreed to take regular (immediate ?) release Wellbutrin because it had worked well for me in the past.

With the first dose of Wellbutrin Thursday I was able to feel some relief from the depression.

Side effects: activation and stomach upset.
I am not up to the full 1/2 tablet of the 100 mgs she wants me per day (50 mg) due to the above side effects.

She did tell me to take more Klonopin as needed.
I also increased the gabapentin at night from 200 to 300.

That sounds like a good plan, Mari. I hope you see some improvement soon without significant side effects.

I'm glad to hear that your pdoc is encouraging you to use more klonopin as needed. I remember at one point she was talking about discontinuing it.

I am glad that you are trying the welbutrin again.
My hope is that you feel the best you can feel.
Have you been to the beach lately?

tough day

Thursday I started on Wellbutrin with a small dose. I had stomach pain and agitation. I took Klonopin as directed.

Friday I took somewhere around 1/3 of Wellbutrin in two doses with Klonopin and some crackers
(Crackers for stomach pain.)

Saturday I messed up by going to to 1/2 of Wellbutrin in two doses.
I moved up too fast I believe.

----
The last dose of Wellbutrin was at 4:30 p.m., but by 11:30 pm, extra Klonopin and Gabapentin were not bringing me down and I was feeling awful from the Wellbutrin chest pain.

I had to explain "a little" more than I usually do to hubby so that he could become
more involved as my helper.
I was careful to tell him enough so that he could pay more attention without
telling him so much that he would freak out.
It was a hard conversation for both of us.

I am glad that you had that conversation,
I hope it helped both of you.

I understand how hard that can be. I'm sorry that you found yourself in a place where you had to do that, Mari :hug::hug:

Hopeful for certain moments of the day.

Saw pdoc with a chart I made of Wellbutrin and side effects the past week.

She saw how awful I have been.
She wanted to give me something / anything / . . She offered Xanax and other
stuff to help with Welllbutrin anxiety since Klonopin was not helping enough with anxiety
and Klonopin seems to making depression worse. . . . She wanted something else instead
of Wellbutrin.

I told her I wanted to wait one more week on the Wellbutrin by staying the course.

A few hours after I saw her, the Wellbutrin anxiety was even worse.
I emailed her my update a few mins ago about not wanting to do the
Wellbutrin plan anymore.

I'm so sorry that things aren't working out with the Wellbutrin and you are feeling so awful… I wish you weren't so sensitive to drugs, and didn't have to go through all this **** all the time to treat your BP and anxiety :hug::hug:

I'm glad that your pdoc is sensitive to your needs and wants to work with you. I hope that her solution to the problems with the Wellbutrin is a good one. I don't know how long it will stay in your system once you stop taking it though.

Maybe switching to Xanax temporarily is a good idea, unless you've had a negative experience with it. I've found it to be stronger than klonopin, and it works faster, but not for as long. It worked pretty well for my anxiety attacks when I was having them frequently. You can always go back to klonopin once you've weathered the storm.

I hope you can find some relief soon, Mari :hug::hug:

It sounds like you are really trying.
good for you to bring in notes.
I wish I had as good a rapport with my pdoc as you have with yours.

I am sorry it is so hard....
I always want things to get easier for you.

Her email this morning was short.
I think she hopes I can keep taking the
Klonopin with the Wellbutrin.
