I'm on prednisone and self control when it comes to food is barely there.
Is this how it feels on some of the meds for bipolar?
Which ones?
I'm now down to 15 mgs (I have lupus and related stuff) and it's a little better.
Drinking a LOT of water between meals helps a little.

We met some friends at randols reastaurant for food and cajun dancing. It was fun!
ended up having some fish and sausage over cabbage and one fried onion ring and a crab ball of sorts. Food was pretty good. Had a remulaud sauce drizzled on it.
Hubby and I split it. He also had a cup of chicken and sausage gumbo, he said his was very good. Jeff had a double whiskey. OUr bill with tax and tip was $55. Glad we split a meal!
and I ate twice. Was not hungry but felt obliged to eat. and did not eat healthy nor stay on my diet. But Jeff and I danced a bit so that was good!

I was shocked. I got on the scale and weighed four pounds less. I just had steak anad coffee today. I wonder if it was at least one real pound. I took my blood pressure a few times today. One came ot 161. I have been feeling so rotten these days I wonder if i am goinng to die soon. I don't think the coffee has anything to do with the mania but i will look it up later. there is a compulsion rather than anxiety. I think I will make some now. I already slept after not sleeping yesterday. No buying pants today. didn't see any. bought a cell phone. robert did it for me. so terrified about money. so tired of being terrified. given mickey more meat

Your post reminded me of something.
A long time ago, a doctor told me that a quick way to lose weight if I had someplace to go (like for a wedding, etc.) was to eat a VERY light (tiny) breakfast and lunch, drink only water and coffee for the day for liquids (no sugar in the coffee), and then have a small to moderate sized piece of steak and a few slices of tomato for dinner. This is only for one or two days tops.
Weird...but it works.

Seroquel is like Prednisone as far as weight gain goes...

It can increase your appetite, but you gain weight whether or not you overeat. I needed to gain weight when I started taking it, but not 50lbs.

It sounds like you had a good time at your get together Bizi. I'm glad that the food was good, even if it was expensive... you needed a cheat day anyway ;)

Am seeing a client out of town tomorrow morning(hopefully)
then gumbo at a new restaurant to us "soops" in maurice about a 15 minute drive, they should be open for lunch on a saturday, if not then we will go to our regular place chris's po boys. They have delicious gumbo!
Then I get my hair colored and cut at 1, that usually takes 2-3 hours.
At 7 we are going to see a tribute to marvin gaye down town. Jeff is cynical, I am hopeful that it will be good.

I hope you get to see that client today, and that you enjoy being pampered at the salon and your hair turns out the way you like it... are you trying something new?

I don't blame Jeff being cynical about the tribute group. I love Marvin Gaye, and he is a tough act to follow. The singer would have to be very talented to do any justice to his songs. I hope it is a good show though :)
