I'm so sorry that your anxiety disorders are still tormenting you and you are having panic attacks
Sometimes coming up with a comforting/reassuring phrase to repeat to oneself during times of high anxiety or panic attacks can help. The phrases are different for everyone. Please try your best to stay in the present. I know that it's very, very hard when things in the future are uncertain, but please try |

BF; As you know from previous experience, anxiety can cause the tightening feeling in your chest. I wish you could get out for a while. Even a walk or stop for coffee at a restaurant that has counters. A friend use to go almost every morning to a restaurant that had a U shape counter. The people were use to seeing each other most mornings and would talk and kid around back and forth. It was a reason for him to get up and get out for a little while most days. Sometime too much time alone gives way to thoughts that stray and cause things to be amplified. Also, as Kay suggested a word/phrase.....remember "blessed". Keep that in mind as well. Gerry |

Thank you all. I've been feeling better today. Thank goodness. My emotions were in a storm, and it has cleared for the time being. I was totally freaked out, but I'm doing better now. BF

I came from the generation that said it's all in your mind, or it's all in your head. It's more then that. Scientists, experts, and doctors can prove it now.
I had become upset when I was at a military academy. I had a panic attack which lead to other anxieties. I tried to go to the infirmary, and the nurse shook her head when I was at the door. This was back in 1969. There wasn't very much help for people with mental health conditions back then. All of that was hush-hush. I didn't talk to people about my illness. It was not understood. The only people who would help you were high priced psychiatrists. BF |

I went to a high priced psychiatrist. there wasn't a diagnosis of bipolar II. he didn't help me. then after I graduated I went to another one, he was even worse. On top of it my father didn't use insurance because he didn't want it on my record.

Dad did not have insurance for me, and he had to pay the cost in full. At that time, I was labeled from then on with a preexisting condition. It was all expensive. The medications were expensive. Everything that psychiatrists did in those days, they wanted maximum dollars. They made mistakes in their evaluations, and diagnoses. Around 12 years ago I went to a hospital to find out what the doctors wrote down about my condition. They didn't know what I had. They didn't seem to understand any of it. They made some incorrect guessing. God bless my dad. He didn't sign up for this when I was born. Everything in my life was so to speak, put on hold. I've been trying to get help all of my life. It has just changed from one mental health issue to another. There has been so much misunderstanding from doctors, family, churches, and friends. If they did not know, they should have not guessed what was wrong with me, and given me a label. I worked for years, but I'm living a life on hold again. I don't know what to do. I have a very complex condition, and situation. BF |

BF and Bobby, I'm so sorry that you had to struggle for so long because mental health care was nonexistent or so poor back then
I'm glad that you are feeling better BF |
