Kay
Sending you some hugs. I'm sorry for what your sister is doing. I wish she would just let you have what was yours. But this is normal in families. Sorry that I am about it. Donna :grouphug: |
How are you doing today?
How is your anxiety? Are you still having headaches off and on? How is your diet going? hugs to you today. (((((HUGS))))) bizi:hug::hug::hug: |
I have no money to hire a lawyer, but even if I did, I would probably lose because she's had the jewelry for so long. Possession is 9/10 of the law.
My anxiety is better this morning. Hopefully after a couple more nights on the 400mg dose of gabapentin I will be back to where I was before I lowered it. I had written my neuro a couple notes on the online "patient portal" asking if it was safe to have the Tysabri (MS med) infusions anymore. There was some confusion, but he said it was okay, and recommended a new nephrologist. I was supposed to get the Tysabri this morning, but his secretary called yesterday morning to see if I'd seen the new nephrologist yet, and asked what was going on with my kidneys. She cancelled today's infusion, then called and got me an appointment with the new nephrologist. The earliest appointment I could get was March 5th, but I'm on the cancellation list. She said she would have my hospital records (lab tests, radiologist reports) sent over, but I'll have to get the CAT scan and ultrasound images and lab test results from a private lab myself. Then, the current/old nephrologist's RN just called to tell me he wants me to have an MRI on the 24th, and I don't know what to do. Normally I would ask my PCP, but he retired and I have a new one I've never seen. I'm sure he doesn't know me from a hole in the wall and this is a mess. I don't even know if an MRI would be worthwhile, and my copay is $300 (?) now. I'll have to do a little research on that, and maybe it will help me come to a decision. The diet is going well... maybe too well. I've lost 6.4lbs in one week. I'm following phase 1 of the diet exactly as I did the last 2 times I was on it, but I never lost this much weight this fast. I lost a couple of pounds randomly before starting the diet, so IDK. I'm going to see what happens in the next 2-3 days, and if my weight loss doesn't start to slow down, I'll switch to phase 2 of the diet, which is less restrictive. Anyway, I'm under 160 for the first time in too long, and I'm not sad about that :) |
Thank you for the update.
It is very confusing about your kidney situation and doctors. I am sorry you have to go thru these hoops. You knew that you needed a new nephrologist though so am glad. You will probably need an MRI anyway...so maybe have that done on the 24th and then get those results over to the new guy/gal. When do you see your new mdoc? Thinking of you today. (((((HUGS))))) Glad that your anxiety is decreasing. bizi |
You can also call the Neurologist office. Or send through the portal
like you did before. Asking what they think about the MRI. Good luck, I'm really glad you switched nephrologist though. Donna :grouphug::hug: |
How are you doing today kay?
congratulations on your weight loss. Maybe you were retaining some fluid? That's what I think my loss was...I was bloated and now I don't look so pregnant! I hope you have a good day! (((((HUGS))))) bizi |
I never got around to calling my pdoc about my anxiety, but because it's been so bad, I decided to increase the gabapentin to 600mg last night... and I woke up feeling much better this morning.
She has had me do that in the past for 2-3 days before going back down to 400mg, and that's what I'm going to do. I don't know if I will call her or not. I read that the MRI of my kidneys would be pointless... The shitty nephrologist's RN called me back a couple hours after booking it to tell me that he had spoken to the radiologists, who told him the same thing, so she cancelled it. Shouldn't a nephrologist have already known that? Maybe he should have googled it, like I did. I'm going to cancel my appointment with him on 2/14 and request my medical records. He has no f***ing idea what he's doing. I see my neuro today. I'm sure he'll want to hear more about the kidney business. I wonder if it is contributing to my fatigue issues? I guess there's no way to know right now tho. Then I have to pick up some groceries and go to the butcher shop. |
wow!
He is an idiot! glad that you are resourceful enough to research things yourself. Good luck with your chores. it is going to be in the 40's today! ya! What is your weather like today? bizi |
