We easily got 3" of snow overnight, and it looks like a white-out outside right now, but at least it's not very windy yet. The forecast has changed, and now we are expecting 8-12" today and another 1-3" tonight.
Corey just called and said the company he drove 1 1/2hrs away to do work for was closed, and he's on his way home now. I hope he is careful. I will be very happy when he is home. I have a headache (AGAIN) and am getting lightheaded, especially when getting up. Resting BP: 107/72, pulse: 96. May be dehydrated? That could cause orthostatic hypotension. IDK, but I'm waiting to take my shower until Corey comes home. Yesterday I bought the same two types of medical MJ I bought the first time I visited the dispensary because both of them worked well without blowing me away. I was feeling a little adventurous, and also bought cherry and pomegranate "microdose" MJ hard candies, and decided to take one of those last night, but it didn't do anything. I ate another one and felt sleepy, so I went to bed. I was up several times with spasms in my legs tho. I guess two of those hard candies just isn't enough. I guess next time I will try eating 3. I'm surprised I need more than a "microdose" because I'm hardly a heavy smoker. I'm glad I didn't spend much on the candies. I will be having my colonoscopy on the 19th at the outpatient facility. I got the wrong prep instructions when I was in the office, and when I asked, the medical assistant agreed to email the prolonged prep instructions to me yesterday. I'm glad I asked because the prep is supposed to start today- Mirilax every morning. Then I'm supposed to start taking prescription SuPrep the day before the procedure. The Mirilax is not going to work. I'll increase the mag. citrate from 1/2 bottle to 1 (I'm trying to take it 3xweek now) and see if that helps. Enemas and suppositories don't work for me. Usually the problem is higher up in the colon. SuPrep= $90 with insurance, or $50 without using a coupon (easy decision) |
I hope you have a good day. Sorry for the extra snow today. stay put and safe, sorry corey had to drive all of that way to just have to turn around and come back home. I hope he doesn't run into any problems.
Wishing you a safe day today with plenty of warmth. (((((HUGS))) bizi |
It was absolutely terrible out yesterday!!! I'm so happy that Corey was able to come home early. I think we got a total of about two feet of snow, but we didn't lose power... YAY!!! Corey actually (mostly) cleaned off my car for me before leaving for work... it was buried.
My day got off to a very bad start... I woke up to a clogged toilet, cat puke everywhere, a totally heinous cat poop odor (in the boxes I just cleaned out) that needed to be dealt with immediately, and no cable (not related to an outage in the area). I was able to take care of everything but the cable... The first time I called, after very brief troubleshooting, the customer service rep told me I needed a tech to come out, and the earliest appointment was on MONDAY. I called back again, and although the lady couldn't fix the problem, she was able to give me an appointment for 10am-noon TODAY. I'm glad I called back. I fell trying to clean off the remainder of the snow off my car, but I landed in a big pile of it, so there was no damage done. Maybe I will be bruised. IDK. My gastro's office called my home phone twice while I was on the phone with the cable company, but they didn't leave a message. I don't know if they're calling about something to do with the colonoscopy or the stool sample I dropped off at the hospital on Monday. I called and left a message asking them to call me back on my cell and to leave a message if I don't answer. |
At my doctors office they have a consent form to allow them to leave messages on the answering machine.
Stay safe and warm, I hope you did not hurt your hiney. (((((HUGS)))) bizi |
Of course the Mirilax hasn't done anything besides causing pressure, bloating, and pain. I'm so FOS, the SuPrep I will take the night before and the day of the colonoscopy on Monday won't be enough on it's own, so I've had to take mag. citrate, but just 1/2-1 bottle at a time. I will take it one more time tonight, and hopefully with the SuPrep, that will be enough to do the job.
I was supposed to see the NP at my PCP's office, but the secretary f***ed up and gave the appointment to someone else. Fortunately, one of the doctors (not my PCP) in the office was willing to see me. It's the second time I've seen him, but I've never seen my own PCP. I like him and he's very thorough, so I would like to switch, but I don't know if I can make that happen. He put me on Singulair to see if it will help with some of my elevated WBCs that have persisted since September. We had a good laugh about how awful the old nephrologist is lol. I'm excited to get my nails done today. I had to cancel my appointment earlier in the week because of the snow storm, so I'm overdue. I really want to see Judy, too. She is getting close to her delivery date, and this may be the last time I see her for a while. I love to shop for baby clothes, but I know she is going to need help with the bills, so I'm going to give her a card with $50. She knows what she needs better than I do. I've been pretty naughty, and haven't been really sticking to my diet lately like I should be, but I have dropped a little more weight anyway, and am at 146.6lb. On Jan. 10th I was 165. I was a size 12 then, but I tried on a pair of size 8 jeans again yesterday, and they were a comfortable fit. |
Kay,
I sure wish it were easier for you. (((((HUGS)))) I just ran across that medication name that I thought might work for you. It is called relistor. Congratulations on your weight loss!!!!! Just think you will be lighter after getting cleared out. That is a very thoughtful gift to her, she will be so surprised.:) I hope your nails turn out just the way you like them and that you pick a fun color! How are your leg spasms? The MJ helping? Will be thinking of you this weekend. ((((((HUGS)))) bizi |
Thank you for the suggestion, Bizi. But Relistor is targeted specifically for people with constipation due to narcotic usage to manage chronic pain. It's a different type of constipation than I suffer from. I have tried Linzess and Amitiza, but neither med worked for me.
I didn't take any mag. citrate last night because I had a lot of pain in the lower left side of my abdomen (where the hernia/prolapse is) after taking the dose the night before. I've made some headway with what I took already, so hopefully the SuPrep I will start taking tomorrow evening will be enough. Judy isn't due until April 4th, but she will deliver earlier than that. Her baby shower is the 25th. I hope the baby will wait until then. She did a great job on my nails as usual, but I'm not in love with the color. Hopefully it will grow on me. I'm definitely hypo. Or hypo+ I was extremely sociable at the nail salon yesterday, and I've had rapid (mostly) Amy Whinehouse song playback in my head constantly when I'm not having other rapid thoughts. My thinking is not linear, or normal for me. And despite feeling like dog s***, and being exhausted, I haven't been able to settle down enough to take a nap for the last two days, and have ended up being very irritable and easily agitated because of it... I guess I was bound to swing one way or another with everything going on. I'm going to have to up the gabapentin from 400 to 600mg for at least the weekend. Hopefully it will help. I will contact my pdoc on Monday after the colonoscopy. I will have to take more Klonopin today to try to manage whatever part of this is anxiety. I have a lot to be anxious about. |
Sorry that you have not been able to take your naps.
I will be thinking of you today and sending warm thoughts your way. (((((HUGS)))) bizi |
Since yesterday was St. Patrick's Day, I made corned beef and cabbage.
I bought 3 1/2 lbs of flat cut gray from the butcher shop because it's much better than the supermarket stuff, and it turned out awesome! :) I will make Corey corned beef hash this morning... Unfortunately, I'm on a clear liquid diet today, so having the leftovers in the fridge is going to kill me! I start taking the SuPrep colonoscopy prep at 5pm tonight, which I'm sure will be tons of fun. Then I'll have to get up at 5am tomorrow morning to start taking the rest. I can take the punishment as long as it does the job!!! I'm cheating right now and am having a little non-dairy creamer in my coffee. I'm done after this cup tho, and I know better than to cheat like this tomorrow morning. The Klonopin slowed me down enough so I could take a nap yesterday. I forgot to change the dose of gabapentin in my pill case last night, but I feel a little more grounded this morning anyway. I've decided a med change is not a good idea right before having a procedure with any kind of anesthesia (probably "conscious sedation"), so I will be sticking with the 400mg dose at least for one more night. |
I did not remember a thing with my colonoscopy. good luck with he prep kay
