I take about six caplets of phillips. Maybe you should change laxatives or get a prescription laxative. Are you drinking enough water? Are you eating too much meat?
First, alcohol is a diuretic (draws water out of you), so it could make your stool harder & aggravate the area.

bizi 06-30-2019 06:19 PM

hi bobby,
I only take 3 mag oxide about 1250mg every day...some days it is harder and painful to pass, some times diarrhea. Most days it is some where in between. I never want to get impacted again! So will continue on this program, am happy with it. Before, I was only taking 1000mg but now 1250mg. So it increased a bit to stay regular BM every 1-2 days. I do drink a lot of water and coffee.
((((HUGS))))

the directions for mine say 2 to 4 a day. I need to take six. my apartment is so hot again. it affects my stomach

Dmom3005 06-30-2019 07:17 PM

Bobby

I honestly think that the apartment being so hot is what is effecting
your stomach right now. I really wish we could help you solve that
part of the problem. I am hoping that you will start to feel better
after they get the thing fixed.

I'm so sorry its broke.

My GP had me take one TableSpoon of Apple Cider Vinegar with one glass of water in the morning.

Then thoroughly rinse the mouth with water due to acid on the teeth.

The apple cider vinegar has been helping me with those kids of issues.
I don't take it everyday but maybe once or twice a week now.

Otherwise magnesium citrate.

M

mymorgy 07-01-2019 04:41 AM

thanks so much. I will start trying it in a couple of days. Did he give you the okay on magnesium citrate? Linesse has worked for me twice. I am going to take it this morning even though I am going to drink that preparation for the colonoscopy, I feel like a dangerous jerk. I should have postponed it til after I got the air conditioning I feel so physically awful when I wake up each morning.
I feel slightly nauseated and gassy, besides severely depressed.

OhKay 07-01-2019 06:56 AM

Constipation is infrequent bowel movements, small hard and/or hard to to pass stool. It can be caused by using excessive amounts of laxatives, like the 6 Phillips caps you have been taking. They usually say having a bowel movement anywhere from three times a day to three times a week is considered normal.

There is nothing wrong with taking the Linzess today, Bobby. I would not take it tomorrow morning, if that is the day of the colonoscopy, tho.

I hope that the prep goes well for you. Stay well hydrated, water or Gatorade are best :hug::hug:

I REALLY hope that you are less depressed and anxious once this ordeal is over, and that they find nothing wrong (((HUGS)))

mymorgy 07-01-2019 07:06 AM

the aplenzin really takes care of my depression! it is amazing. I just wake up depressed but once I take it it really works fast.

OhKay 07-01-2019 08:13 AM

Sorry, I misunderstood... I just read that your previous post where you said you were "severely depressed" was before 6am.

I'm glad that your antidepressant is working once you take it :)
I wish it worked 24/7 tho.

mymorgy 07-01-2019 08:27 AM

It is all right. I have suffered from depression for most of my life. Aplenzin is a miracle. I have been on it for a few months. It has lifted an incredible burden off my shoulders. I can easily take waking up depressed knowing that soon with the pill it will be gone! I think my anxiety has also been affected. Without the depression my anxiety has decreased. Another miracle. Linesse worked this morning although I did take phillips last night. I found out that one of the allergy pills I have is okay with high blood pressure. After I read that and realized I had it, after a while my eyes, mouth, arms and nose and face stopped itching. I think I am a bit allergic to my beloved kitty cats

Dmom3005 07-01-2019 10:13 AM

Bobby

Honestly right now with out the air conditioning its probably
worse on you with the kitties. Since they are hot too.

So their fur is worse and easier to get to you in the allergy
way. So wait till you have air back to worry about being that
allergic to them.

Donna :grouphug::hug:

mymorgy 07-01-2019 10:18 AM

thank you so much. usually i don't have bad allergies.

mymorgy 07-01-2019 11:25 AM

the ac came.. I am waiting for them to come up and install it

Dmom3005 07-01-2019 11:48 AM

yah, hope they come soon.

Donna:grouphug:

mymorgy 07-01-2019 11:48 AM

they took the old one out and have been waiting for them to bring up the new one. I feel so much rage I am not going to tip them

mymorgy 07-01-2019 12:33 PM

they finally came and installed the new one. The super said it was 14500 and it couldn't get any bigger for the sleeve. He said I burnt out the old one because I ran it on a low temperature and it never turned itself off. This one is now set for 72 and will automatically turn itself off. I don't know what took them so long to bring up the new one and I didn't give them a tip

mymorgy 07-01-2019 02:15 PM

my apartment is so nice and cool!

Dmom3005 07-01-2019 03:02 PM

Good Bobby.

You deserve to have a great night.

I hope tomorrow goes good.

Donna :hug::grouphug:

Mari 07-01-2019 04:33 PM

They can manage without the tip.

It's good to hear that you have your air conditioner.

I took half the liquid for the colonoscopy about an hour ago...so far just pee. I hope it works. I take the rest at 9. it just started to work a little

Dmom3005 07-02-2019 08:04 AM

Thinking of you this morning Bobby

Donna:grouphug:

OhKay 07-02-2019 08:42 AM

Best of luck today! I’m thinking of you, too! ♥️♥️♥️

Rain shower 07-02-2019 08:56 AM

Thinking of you.

mymorgy 07-02-2019 10:22 AM

thanks so much. everything came out fine. I am so tired now.

OhKay 07-02-2019 10:33 AM

I'm so happy to hear that, Bobby! :):):)

I hope that with the new AC in you are able to get some rest. Those test can be exhausting (((HUGS)))

mymorgy 07-03-2019 04:46 AM

I just feel so relieved. The air conditioner is such a pleasure, I have been worried about the exam for over ten years. Whatever they used knocked me out worked like the speed of light... so fast. The doctor said the exam took 25 minutes, He spoke with me afterwards and told me the great news. When I woke up I thought I was in my own bed. I asked him to double the laxative but the pharmacy hasn't called me yet. Later in the day I threw up. I was so exhausted the rest of the day and night. My stomach is still bothering me from bloating and gas.I really thought I had colon cancer.
I had oatmeal yesterday and it didn't help. I will probably go back to him soon if it persists. Oh my blood pressure was great!
I see my g.p. today at 2. I will tell him the great news. I hadn't told him last time that I was going to have it done.
bobby

mymorgy 07-03-2019 07:31 AM

my ac froze. I couldn't turn it off or anything. I called downstairs and a little later Eddie came up. He fiddled around and it still wouldn't work. Finally he pressed the reset button which I didn't know about on the plug and then everything was fine

Rain shower 07-03-2019 09:12 AM

Wonderful news. You did it! Cross this worry off your list.

The medication usually administered before the procedure is Versed. It helps you sleep and has an added benifit of the amnesia effect. You wake up with no memory of the procedure. How convenient. Otherwise, GI docs would not be so popular.

I am also very glad you finally have a proper air conditioner. It has been warmer here with storms, high winds and lots of rain. I like the air on because of the humidity also. I hope you are resting better also.

Have you tried eating smaller meals, like half a bowl of oatmeal? I suffer if I eat too much in one sitting. Did this last night and had upset tummy. If I eat basically half of the normal amount I tolerate it better and will eat again in 2, 3 or 4 hours, rather than longer stretches between eating.

Enjoy the cool air Bobby! Hope your appointment with gp goes well.

Dmom3005 07-03-2019 09:25 AM

So glad your procedure went so well Bobby.

Also hope the gp appointment goes well.

I have no thoughts on the bloating. Wish I did.

Some times I wonder if its more from not eating enough.
Weird as it sounds.

Donna :hug::grouphug:

mymorgy 07-03-2019 09:48 AM

I will try eating smaller amounts. I wake a lot of times with my stomach feeling funny. My eating is so erratic. Most foods don't appeal to me anymore. I have zucchini and I will steam it for lunch I think. Ice cream always appeals to me. I want bread and rice for the acidity but I am diabetic.
Last night I ate oatmeal to try to get rid of the acidic feeling. Then I tried some more of it.I have tried anacids but they don't really work. This morning I woke and my stomach didn't feel well. Against my judgment I made coffee with half and half this morning. then my stomach felt okay.
That is so interesting about the anesthesia.I was told the procedure would be between 1/2 hour to 45 minutes but the doctor said the anesthesia would only last for 1/2 hour. Maybe he was teasing. You are right I have no memory and woke up with no discomfort.
bobby

mymorgy 07-03-2019 02:05 PM

I went to my g.p. I said I still had stomach issues that come and go and antacids don't help much. He said I needed an endoscopy with dr.warman.
I said I will do it but wait a while.Maybe I will do it in a month or so
bobby

Rain shower 07-03-2019 04:39 PM

You will most likely have a similar experience waking up with no memory of the procedure. Wish they could have done both at the same time but that may have been a bit much.

mymorgy 07-03-2019 06:14 PM

I am 75 so I don't think they would have done it. I just woke up from a nap and feel nauseated. I think I can make an appointment online to see him. I guess I shouldn't wait.I just requested an appointment for this Friday at two and am waiting to hear a reply. I just got a confirmation and expect to get a call.

Dmom3005 07-03-2019 06:45 PM

Bobby

I think that procedure will help a lot more with the stomach problems.

I don't know what to tell you to try. Hoping it helps you.

Donna :hug::grouphug:

mymorgy 07-03-2019 08:05 PM

after the coffee the nausea went away. I am reading another enjoyable book and listening to Josh Groban and I just took an allergy pill. I just made another cup of coffee

mymorgy 07-04-2019 06:23 AM

I can't believe what I just did. alex my youngest nephew sent me pictures of his sons in camp and pictures of his wife and him in Greece. I thanked him and told him how scared I was about my not feeling well. He wrote back and said stay positive. I wrote back a lengthy reply. I began with I have no family.
i have done more reading and it really sounds as if I have IBS. I just ordered two pounds of ginger chews

mymorgy 07-04-2019 07:29 AM

alex didn't comment that I had no family. I have gotten really irritable.

OhKay 07-04-2019 09:48 AM

I'm so happy that you had the procedure done, and you already know that everything's okay. It's great that something that has been weighing on you for so many years is in your rear view mirror now

I think that you could definitely benefit from an upper endoscopy, if only to rule nefarious things out. Your symptoms are not responding to OTC meds, so something is going on that needs to be at least treated with prescription medication. There is no prep for it, usually just no food after midnight, and you will probably have the same kind of sedation.

I hope that the doubled dose of the Linzess helps with what seems like IBS. That's what it's mainly prescribed for (((HUGS)))
Please don't take anymore over the counter laxatives, and just try to let it do its job even if you don't poop for a couple of days.

I'm happy knowing that you and the kitties are comfy in your apartment with your new AC :hug::hug:

I'm sorry that you are having problems with one of your nephews again. They are so unresponsive to you (((HUGS)))

mymorgy 07-04-2019 11:10 AM

last night I took magnesium citrate and phillips and today I took Linesse. I was just feeling so uncomfortable bloated gassy and nauseated, and constipated and I don't know if the Linesse is working. I didn't want to take a chance. I was just feeling so rotten. I feel much better today. I am also drinking a lot of coffee. The thought of food nauseates me, except for coffee. I can't believe how well the antidepressant is working. I am still exhausted from the anesthesia but still listening to Josh Groban and when I am not napping I am reading or petting the kitty cats. Heard from my g.i. doctor by email saying the office is closed on friday and call on Monday for an appointment.

mymorgy 07-05-2019 07:10 AM

I am irritable. Just heard from Stella and she is so ignorant. she said IBS is easy to fix. what a jerk. My irritability is interfering with my antidepressant. Also read that Linesse can take seven days to work. I wrote her again and says she believes in magical thinking and is afraid of reality and her biggest flaw is lack of humility
