I just got caught up reading your thread bobby.
It is my understanding that you have diarrhea.
I agree with kay that you are not constipated/
which is hard stool that you cannot pass., The diarrhea is from all of the laxatives that you are taking.
bizi

mymorgy 07-10-2019 03:21 PM

but if i didn't take the laxatives I wouldn't go and then I don't know what would happen. do you know what I mean. If you took a lot of laxatives you too would have diarrhea. what would happen if you totally stopped taking laxatives?

If I stopped taking the laxatives then I would get hard stools(constipated) they would hurt to pass them. I suggest that you take half the laxatives that you are taking. Bobby you hardly ever have formed stools so quit taking the laxatives. take half a dose. See how that goes for a few days. have a bowel movement every other day is normal.
It will take a few days to get the laxatives out of your system and to calm down your bowels. they are used tohaving diarrhea . After all of this time not haveing a normal formed stool it may hurt to have a regular BM.

mymorgy 07-10-2019 03:56 PM

i have taken less and nothing happens and I become extremely uncomfortable, bloated, gassy and with a stomach ache.
in my book if you go without laxatives then you are not constipated.

Dmom3005 07-10-2019 04:28 PM

Bobby

I think what Bizi was suggesting, you had already started doing.
She just didn't realize you were. You have stopped most if not
all but one of the laxatives for now. And you aren't taking as
much as you can of it if I remember correctly.

You are doing the one that is working for now. And I totally
agree with her, that its going to take you a while to get back
to a solid one were it doesn't hurt, so you may not get to that.

Donna :hug::grouphug:

mymorgy 07-10-2019 04:44 PM

I take Phillips or magnesium citrate. I probably have IBS. Linesse didn't work for me. I was never constipated til I started on all these prescription drugs.
So many of them cause constipation. I have tried many other otc laxatives including miralax and none have worked. Now especially after the stroke I lead a very sedentary life. I am always fatigued. Now my antidepressant and klonopin aren't working that well from all the stress and isolation. I never had bizi's problem. I am getting very anxious about the endoscopy and what he might find. I stopped trying to go a long time ago without because of the lack of results and discomfort. I am also really scared about money. I have been buying supplements to help my stomach and energy and blood pressure and digestive enymes and probiotics.

bizi 07-10-2019 08:37 PM

I don't mean to be disaggreable bobby.
Am I right that you only usually have diarrhea?
The laxatives will give you more of that, not less.
sigh
bizi
mag citrate is known to cause gas and you can have explosive diarrhea with that.

mymorgy 07-10-2019 09:18 PM

you are right about mostly diarrhea. unlike you nothing comes out if I don't use a laxative. If that happens after a while I would probably have to see a doctor to get it out besides going through days of extreme discomfort

mymorgy 07-11-2019 05:02 AM

just paid my credit card. really high. I am going to try not to run my air conditioner too much. really worried about money besides everything else. I am so very depressed and anxious. feel so alone

mymorgy 07-11-2019 07:06 AM

What to do when medication makes you constipated - Harvard Health

Dmom3005 07-11-2019 10:10 AM

Bobby

The air conditioner is needed till the weather changes. SO try to
leave it alone till it cools off.

Out of curiosity how many books do you read a week.

Donna :hug::grouphug:

mymorgy 07-11-2019 10:44 AM

the air conditioner could cost me at least 150 a month. Now I have to pay the psychiatrist when I see him. That is 125. Then every month I have to pay him 49 to write a prescription. Then cabs went up a few dollars and I take them to go to the doctors. access a ride isn't reliable and I have no patience for it. Now I have to give Pudge prescription cat food for her stomach and that is 40 dollars an 8 pound bag. Abby eats it too. I have a lot of prescriptions for myself. Like aplenzin costs 20 dollars a month.I pay 169 a month for my supplementary insurance and over 500 a year for my prescription drug plan besides another 80 for another plan I just bought a new cell phone and have to pay 14 dollars a month. I decided I really needed one as a backup. I took my annuity out of stocks into a low paying money market. The market keeps on going up and supposedly will go up a lot higher but I just couldn't take the risk anymore. too much stress.
I read about five or six books a week. Right now I have enough books so I don't have to buy anymore from ebay. I buy in lots and get great prices. I also get free books for my kindle from bookbub.com . I get meals on wheels but am tired of veggie burgers and don't like their food. I just bought dried vegetable soup mix with low sodium from amazon and can make thirty servings. I bought low sodium packets of chicken bullion for more flavoring. I will keep on buying bones and hamburg for Danny because Robert is so good to me.
bobby
when the apartment gets hot again I will turn on the great air conditioner again.

Dmom3005 07-11-2019 11:42 AM

Wow, I wish I could read 5 or 6 books a week again. I used to read
a lot in a week. I don't anymore. I really was just curious.

I know you talk about finishing and reading new ones, but I lose that
in the messages as to if you are on a new one or not. I love reading
but got to were it wasn't fun for a while. And right now have hit a
low on that.

I'm sorry the supplements and things cost so much, that is a lot of
money you are right. My husband probably spends that much too
on his. I don't take that much of that stuff, just taking my meds is
hard enough to remember.

Oh and yes, I'd be getting Danny the bones and things too.

I agree the cats need the special food too. i just really wondered
about the books, I used to read a lot. But haven't for a while.

Donna :hug::grouphug:

mymorgy 07-12-2019 04:48 AM

I just read that my new blood pressure medication also causes constipation besides fatigue. I wonder if that is why I am feeling more rotten than usual My stomach has been bothering me more. Last night I took a little nap and woke up with nausea and bloating.I have been having more gas and nausea and bloating. Yesterday I mostly had soup and some chicken. I am so irritable and impatient. I also had trouble formulating a question to my bank. that was really scary. I was wondering if I was losing my mind. I think my symptoms also got worse when I went without air conditioning. The day after the colonoscopy I had a sore throat and was coughing all day. Thanks Donna. F@@k the money I will use the ac. It is weird I wake up and am eager to read. It must give me a lot of pleasure.

OhKay 07-12-2019 07:26 AM

I think most meds cause constipation lol. At least most of mine do.

I'm really glad that you are going to see the gastro to help with your upper GI issues because they have been going on so long. If he does the upper GI he can check for damage, and maybe he can put you on something like Protonix so you will be more comfortable. You can also talk to him some more about your IBS, and what you can do to help with all the gas and bloating that's been making you so uncomfortable (((HUGS)))

But I'm not going to talk about your "constipation" anymore. I know it worries you, but you I feel like I'm banging my head against the wall, so I give up. You are probably tired of listening to me anyway.

I had no idea you were such a prolific reader! I used to read a lot like that, but it's extremely hard for me now because I can't concentrate anymore. I'm glad that it's something you enjoy so much! :)
It is also something very good for keeping the mind sharp as you age.

When I make some phone calls, I try to pre-plan what I will say on the phone, and sometimes I will write things down, so that I don't get flustered.

mymorgy 07-12-2019 07:39 AM

reading and my kitty cats give me so much pleasure. I just spoke with my porter and he used to be 480s. He started juicing twice a day and lost over two hundred pounds and feels great. He is going to write down the list for me. He says it clears him out big time. I will try to force myself to try it.
I am so sorry that you have difficulty concentrating now.
bobby

OhKay 07-12-2019 07:57 AM

That is why it takes me SOOOOO LONG to read and post on the forum, and I have so much trouble catching up sometimes. It has been going on for a long time, so I have adjusted to it. It's the MS and all the meds.

The juicing sounds interesting. I hope it's healthy. I would just worry about all the sugar in the fruit because of your Diabetes.

mymorgy 07-12-2019 08:32 AM

i don't think there is much sugar. I can't imagine juicing cilantro, garlic, onions, ginger turmeric. I won't add kale. He said I could add some apple to it to make it sweeter.

mymorgy 07-12-2019 09:48 AM

i drink a lot of coffee with half and half. My stomach feels funny when I wake up but once I start drinking the coffee my stomach feels so much better. I am so confused because of the acid I think it should feel worse not much better

Dmom3005 07-12-2019 10:35 AM

Bobby

I know that when my mom was alive, she had to have her coffee first
thing in the morning. It was just something she enjoyed. But even
when she didn't feel good, stomach, head or otherwise. The coffee
she said, made her feel better. It was because she was so used to
having the coffee, and she drank her's black period.

Also she loved to have a piece of a sweet roll or something like a
donut with it. Do she could dunk it in. And yes, She was a diabetic
too. Not much of a piece just one little one. She would then
eat her breakfast.

She almost always had either one of these two breakfasts:
1. scrambled eggs and bacon or sausage. and piece of toast.
2. French toast just one piece and bacon.

She loved bread too. She just made sure she didn't eat the bread
as much later in the day.

i know you watch what you eat. But I used to marvel at what she
loved to eat, and I hope you don't mind my sharing my memory.
Donna

mymorgy 07-12-2019 01:53 PM

oh no. Thanks so very much for the memories
fondly
bobby

mymorgy 07-12-2019 01:59 PM

I just watched Federer win and so happy. just one more match and he can be a champion again. I used to be a very good tennis player. He is a genius and humble and I can't phantom how he can make the shots me makes. So exquisite

OhKay 07-13-2019 09:21 AM

I remember how much you like tennis, and Federer in particular. I just read that Serena lost her match.

mymorgy 07-13-2019 09:28 AM

the other woman was spectacular in her court coverage. I think Serena needs a new coach. I love Federer and Rod Laver. I wonder who would have won if they played against each other when they were younger.
I got two hours sleep last night. i turned off the ac when it went into the seventies. At night I won't run it to save money.

bizi 07-13-2019 11:03 AM

We do the exact opposite Bobby warmer during the day and cooler at night so we can sleep well

mymorgy 07-14-2019 06:10 AM

I started a soup diet. I have trouble using the digital scale because of balance so I don't know how much I weigh. I am buying low sodium soup and walmart has great deals on Progresso. I really like their chicken noodle. I haven't taken the antidepressant yet so I am depressed. I hope it keeps on working. I am still really irritable and anxious. Pudge slept with me last night. I haven't bought anything from ebay yesterday or the day before. I did buy two more toys for Danny on Amazon. Abby still loves her fish treats. Cecilia told me that she treats me the best. I am back to writing with Stella. She never answered me when I told her she wasn't humble. I won't be seeing much of her because they stopped playing tennis at a park near me.
I am so looking forward to the tennis match!. Again I am going to be lisening to Josh Groban all day.

OhKay 07-14-2019 09:25 AM

A lot of those Progresso soups are very good, even the low sodium ones, and they are very filling. I'm glad you got such good deals on them, and I hope that the diet works out for you! :)

I hope that the antidepressant keeps working for you, too. Are you only irritable and anxious in the morning before you take it?

Do you think that Cecilia treats you the best?
I'm glad that you are talking to Stella again... I hope she can behave herself!

I hope that you enjoy the tennis match :)

mymorgy 07-14-2019 11:20 AM

I have been anxious jumpy, and irritable all the time lately. I know that things could be so much worse. Cecilia is good to me. I often go over one day a week and watch sports and she gives me salad and dessert and I play with Prince. Sofia has always been timid. Cecilia is not warm even though now we kiss when I leave. My friend Alice pays my rent and even drives to the bank to deposit it and she sends the check to me to sign. Can you believe that?
Robert has been so wonderful to me and repeatedly tells me if I need his help just ask. What can I say. I am blessed.
Maybe once the g.i. doctor can figure out what is wrong with me that might help my irritability and nervousness. Now I only run the air conditioner when it gets past 80. I am so worried about money.
Oh and my sleeping is awful

OhKay 07-14-2019 01:08 PM

I’m sorry that you have been consistently anxious and irritable lately :hug::hug: I can’t remember if you are going to see your pdoc, or if you reach out to him over the phone, he would be willing to prescribe something to supplement your antidepressant?

Does your AC have a thermostat on it? You could set it a little higher at night so that you do get SOME cool air and can sleep... I know that you are worried about $$$, but you need your sleep (((HUGS)))
Lack of sleep could contribute to your irritability.

I’m glad that you have some really good friends, Bobby :)

BlueMoon1950 07-14-2019 01:42 PM

Hi Bobby ~ I listen to booktapes at night and that helps me get back to sleep. I have a Kindle too and the prices at Bookbub are affordable. I got my tape machine from my local library. It comes with a cartridge to download from the library for free to listen to books on tape. You can also download from BARD - for the blind to download booktapes and that is also where I got my tape machine thru too.

I have a free phone from Lifeline. I qualified with my income being soo low. If you want I can send you the link to fill out their application online. If you qualify you can have a choice of free cable or a free phone.

Meals on Wheels is horrible here, I toss more than I can even eat. I think that is why I have soo many stomach issues, the quality of their food is poor. I buy crackers to help fill up in between deliveries and it helps settle my stomach.

My county has an air conditioner plan and if you qualify, I get free fans. Not sure where you live and if your county offers this or not.

Also, thru my county I get free rides to the grocery store, to pick up prescriptions and transportation for doctors visits. I have a county social worker who helps me with all this. It's thru my county adult and aging program.

Blue:hug:

the air conditioner could cost me at least 150 a month. Now I have to pay the psychiatrist when I see him. That is 125. Then every month I have to pay him 49 to write a prescription. when the apartment gets hot again I will turn on the great air conditioner again.

mymorgy 07-14-2019 02:53 PM

that is great! I looked up Lifeline and I think I qualify but I have savings. I am not sure about that. I have a cheap cellphone that costs 14 or 15 dollars a month. I didn't see about cable.
I am so happy that your kitty cat is fascinated by your knitting. Doesn't that mean he is not suffering? That would be beyond phenomenal. Glad that you are taking care of yourself and have disengaged from your toxic neighbors. Keep up the good work. It is hard to break a habit.

Dmom3005 07-14-2019 02:58 PM

Bobby

I would check to see if you qualify for lifeline.

mymorgy 07-14-2019 03:03 PM

my antidepressant is working once I take it. I have had sleep problems for years and nothing a psychiatrist has tried has worked. I have written so many times that I get between 2 and five hours of sleep a night year round. Lately I have gotten a lot more irritable, anxious and angry. Irritability is a key symptom to bipolar II besides difficulty sleeping anxiety and hypomania. I usually haven't had anger just irrability. I can control my ac and put it on when it is past 80 outside. When it gets to be in the low seventies I open the terrace door and turn off the ac since there is not such a difference. this way i save money. I have a fast pulse. whether it is from my high anxiety or the other way around I don
t know. I am on 4mg of klonopin so I can't take anymore. I have a very hard time with drugs and my current psychiatrist had practically tried them all.

mymorgy 07-14-2019 03:17 PM

Donna
If it just saves a few dollars I don't have the patience. I am totally out of patience

mymorgy 07-15-2019 05:01 AM

I just turned off the ac. I just saw it is in the low seventies. sh@t. I am still in a terrible mood. I am so angry. Marci is coming over today and I am going to be such an actress. She can usually tell when I am very upset. I have so much fear. I don't think that is bipolar.
I have been so out of control. Last night I ordered a lot of sugar free cookies. I couldn't control myself.
what a way to start a diet. I am turning to God but I am so angry it is hard.

OhKay 07-15-2019 09:13 AM

The fear could be from anxiety. The fast pulse could be as well. That could also be dehydration, but I know you drink a lot of water...

I'm so sorry you are not feeling well, or sleeping well. I wish you would call your pdoc (((HUGS)))

Good luck today with Marci :hug::hug:

mymorgy 07-15-2019 10:39 AM

thanks. I have been sleep deprived for so many years. Last night I got two hours of sleep and listened to Josh Groban. My doctor tried everything but nothing worked. He tried something to replace klonopin but that proved to a disaster. At least he finally found an antidepressant that actually works for me. Wellbutrin only worked for a little whlle and then stopped. He really tried and is a great psychopharmacologist (sp) and has gotten great reviews. Nobody has been able to treat my sleep problems which exacerbate the other symptoms

mymorgy 07-16-2019 07:37 AM

anxiety: Usually the medications that are prescribed for controlling high blood pressure causes anxiety. The reason behind this is the composition of the medication and also the stress that a person takes after knowing that one is suffering from high blood pressure.

OhKay 07-16-2019 09:43 AM

I'm so gad that you found an antidepressant that works for you... you have struggled for so long to find something effective (((HUGS)))

I did not know that some BP meds could trigger anxiety. Just what you need!:hug::hug:

I'm so glad that you have your music, books, Abby, and Pudge! :)

mymorgy 07-16-2019 01:15 PM

today I feel rotten. My stomach is upset and my anxiety is through the roof. I spoke with Suri for almost an hour and tried to comfort her. She has to take another blood test for her cancer tomorrow and is so anxious and doesn't want to die.
