YEs, just a general email for all. And when your home
all the time. LIke you are it needs to be changed a little.

But they aren't going to tell you that. Its because when your
not it can be different. Its like when My husband sets it for when
we both are out for 8 hours a day. He can set it for 5 degrees higher
than we want for the nights.

Bobby ~ I live in a county owned building. They are keeping the hallways upwards of 78 degrees, but are not recommending what temp to keep during the day. Most of us here are home during the day. Fortunately the county pays for all our utilities.

Glad that the increase in your meds is helping you feel less depressed first thing in the am !! Yay for YOU !!

If your BP rises again, you can contact your GP or cardiologist, and they can adjust your meds again, so everything will be okay (((HUGS)))

Please don't try to start drinking large quantities of water. About 8 glasses a day is the standard recommendation, and can include other fluids. Too much water could effect your BP and send you running to the BR with urgency, which could increase your risk of falls

I'm so glad that you are enjoying the soups. I like the ones with barley in them, but don't know if any of there are low-sodium versions.

It's good that you are keeping the air on at 72. I know that you are getting the same heatwave we are, too. So, I'm really I'm relieved to know that you have your AC now :hug::hug:

Ut Oh, did I cause an issue here about consumption of water??? My apologies if I did. I always try to mention to check with your doctor first before starting anything new.

After all these years of drinking that much water, I am used to it and do not run to the bathroom anymore, with the exception at night, lol.

Will keep my suggestions off the message board to prevent any conflicts. Again, my apologies !!

that is great. I just turned off my new ac. I will turn it on in 15 minutes. I think my room should be cooler. I guess I am depressed because I don't feel well.

I feel the ac but i think it should be colder. I am just going to try to fall asleep

mymorgy 07-21-2019 02:12 AM

ny stomach ache went away but i am depressed. I don't think it is stomach cancer if it comes and goes

mymorgy 07-21-2019 06:11 AM

I seem to be in some sort of crisis. I finally woke up without a stomach ache. I wonder if is just IBS with constipation. My apartment is comfortable now but I am terrified that it is not working properly because I thought it was supposed to shut off when it reached the temperature I set it at. It didn't seem to matter if I set it to 72 which it is on or 68. What if the bill is 400 dollar? I wrote my friend Robert to see if he will check it out and will ask the building tomorrow. I don't know if I am depressed or just terrified. It is awful to live alone and not have somebody there when I have such negative thinking. I must have gotten six hours or seven hours of sleep. I am exhausted. I am so frightened.
bobby

mymorgy 07-21-2019 06:58 AM

two different guys came up but they didn't know about the ac. Eddie said he would tell the super. Usually the super goes away to his house in Pa. for the weekend. I am calming down a bit but still very agitated. Hope it doesn't have to also do with the increase in Aplenzin. The people who work in this building are so very nice. I am greatful for that. Only the president of the coop is a sh@t. The super left because of him. We were all heartsick because the super is so fantastic,so nice and bright. Eventually they made a deal and the super came back and he rules now.

OhKay 07-21-2019 08:22 AM

I don't think that you have stomach cancer. You are not throwing up or losing a lot of weight, which are good signs (((HUGS)))

I think by the symptoms you have been talking about, you probably have acid reflux or something similar that is resistant to OTC meds. Untreated those symptoms can cause problems, so the GI needs to check things out unless he can prescribe a med that relieves your symptoms first :hug::hug:

IBS usually effects your lower abdomen, so that is a separate issue. They are both very common problems tho.

Try turning your AC off and unplugging it for a little while and see if it works better when you turn it back on. Sometimes appliances need a little break.
I'm glad that Robert is going to take a look at it for you though because that may not work, and he is so handy

I'm so sorry that you are scared and having negative thoughts right now. I wish that I could take that pain away (((HUGS)))
When you are feeling that way, are you able to read? Or are you too overwhelmed?

I wish that all that sleep helped.

Of course you can make suggestions! :)
And it's very responsible of you to qualify them by suggesting that people consult with their doctors first...

It's just that trying to drink 1/2 one's body weight in water is not healthy, and probably not possible, and Bobby said she was going to try it, so I felt I needed to say something.

I'm sorry that you felt put out by my comment (((HUGS)))

right now I am still overwhelmed so I am having a hard time reading. I am so anxious. I worry a lot about money and have been using my savings because I don't get that much money in ss. I got out of the stock money and it keeps on going up. It became too stressful.
I will do what you suggest and unplug the air conditioner and then turn it on in 15 minues. I had looked up acid reflex before and don't think I have it. Thanks about the stomach cancer. I always tend to think the worse

OhKay 07-21-2019 09:01 AM

I'm sorry you are so anxious (((HUGS)))

I tend to think the worst because of my anxiety sometimes, too. It's called catastrophic thinking. The way I deal with it is to get as much information as possible... in some situations, that information just doesn't exist, so it can be hard :hug::hug:

Even if you don't have acid reflux, you could have some other benign condition that can be easily treated by the gastro :hug::hug:

mymorgy 07-21-2019 09:08 AM

I got scared of stomach cancer because a have pernicious anemia and slightly anemic. I am sorry you have catastrophic thinking too. It is a killer. I do the same thing and spend so much time seeking information. I spent so much time looking for herbal tea and their side effects for my conditions. I haven't gotten the dandelion tea yet which I ordered. It supposedly a great diuretic and might help to lower cholesterol.

Bobby ~ I have been reading "Full Catastrophic Living" by Joh Kabat-Zinn. It's been helpful for me.

Also, I practice DBT (Dialectal Behavior Therapy) which is a form of Mindfulness (living in the present moment and not judging your thoughts and feelings). It takes alot of practice. When I am in emotion mind, it's very hard to redirect my thinking or break the emotion. Emotions love emotions and they tend to build upon each other until you are in full catastrophic thinking (which I am in most of the time).

There are various grounding tools that I use that distract my catastrophic thinking and are helpful in getting out of that level of thinking.

for years and years I have used an expression Where ever you go, there you are. I have bipolar II, ptsd from being in an explosion and badly burnt with no scars and generalized anxiety disorder. I always tend to think the worse. I talk to God a lot and thank him for everything, even my bipolar. I used to be a psychologist and worked with children and their parents. Self help books never helped me. Thanking God for everything does help me when I remember to do it. I also was a computer programmer.

Oh NO !!! ((( hugs ))), I do not feel put out by your comment at all.

We are here to help each other and support each other. I never felt put out by our comment at all, please understand this. I appreciate everything I read that you post here and I certainly respect your position on this.

I am new here and just getting to know all of you and know where the boundaries are needed. I'll try not to make suggestions like this going forward and I am soo relieved you stood up to prevent Bobby for doing something that you felt would harm her.

Contradict away, please, that is what this forum is all about. It's about bouncing ideas off each other. No harm down with me. I hope you know this. Soo many misunderstandings happen with the black and white written word, where we cannot hear empathy and fluctuations in voice.

I hope you are okay and I'm very sorry.

got another email from building. They have a generator so we don't to worry about the elevators. lights in the hall, ac in the lobby and community room. My apartment is sort of warm but not hot. the super will be back tomorrow. This new one appears to be defective.

Dmom3005 07-21-2019 05:23 PM

Bobby

I'm glad the super will be back tomorrow. And this bothers me
that the air conditioner seems to be defective.

Donna :hug::grouphug:

mymorgy 07-21-2019 06:21 PM

the doorman came up with a package and asked if he could look at the ac. He set to 68 and said he felt the difference between 72 and 68. He said leave at 68 and in a couple of hours your apartment will be fine. He was right. I still want the super to check it out because it is always running and I have the energy saver on which should turn it off intermittently but it hasn't.
I had great news. My friend Suri just had another test for her breast cancer that might in her lungs too and it came out fine! she has been in agony for three days worried about the results.

Dmom3005 07-21-2019 07:20 PM

Bobby

That is great news for Suri.

Also realize that with the heat the way it is. The air might not
turn off right now. It might be because its so hot outside.

So just wait till it gets cooler to worry about why its not turning off.

Bobby ~ Sounds like Suri is just off of treatment and is going thru post operative care.

I went thru breast cancer 6 years ago. I had frequent mammograms every 3 months for two years and then went down to every 6 months and then yearly.

Was on an A-1 Inhibitor for 5 years to prevent recurrence. Stopped the drug last year. have had several biopsies since then, all negative, all due to post surgical issues - scar tissue presenting as a new tumor.

Blood tests to determine cancer markers are not reliable, per my Oncologist. A PetScan is more reliable.

Glad she is okay, you must be relieved too. Is Suri a family member?

Hugs,

Blue

Interesting things about the Breast cancer. I didn't know
what they do when you can't have Mammogram's anymore.

I'm an hmmm, 3 or 4 time breast cancer survivor. Only
meaning I had two or three lumpnectomies, only because the
third they couldn't get a biopsy, so my surgeon took the sample
and got the whole thing. But it returned 6 months later.

So I then had a mastectomy, or was supposed to have double,
but got a infection ended up having a mastectomy, then a second
one almost 9 months later. Waiting that long, because I waited
till Derrick went to his college he called it.

I have been cancer free this time for almost 3 years.

I am so sorry you two had to go through that. I am so happy you are fine.
Suri, my closest friend who lives in Israel got a bad prognosis and there are some spots in her lungs. She feels that the cancer care in Israel is far superior to that in the states. She now is on an experimental drug that seems to be working. She is so scared.

I went to a cardiologist this morning. She is going to appeal the insurance company to cover a drug. I found out that epic doesn't cover my antidepressant
and I will have to pay close to 300 dollars. I don't get that much ss. I have a feeling that the drug she wants me on for cholesterol also won't be covered by epic, a new york state agency so even if the insurance company says I can have it, I don't think I will be able to afford it. I am not depressed because the antidepressant is really working. I will keep on turning off the air conditioner at night. Such is life

mymorgy 07-23-2019 03:45 AM

i really feel good. the antidepressant is a miracle drug. I hope it keeps working!

just called epic to see why they won't cover aplenzin when they did before. they said the pharmacy made a mistake and should only charge me 20 dollars instead of close to 300 dollars. Yippee! They gave me a number for the pharmacy to call to correct their mistake. They didn't know about repatha.(sp)
The Benefits of High Cholesterol Levels | Wellness Mama

The cost for Aplenzin oral tablet, extended release (hydrobromide 174 mg/24 hours) is around $1,449 for a supply of 30 tablets, depending on the pharmacy you visit. Prices are for cash paying customers only and are not valid with insurance plans.

Repatha is covered by medicare part d so epic should cover it

Interesting.

I have heard heart diseased is not always about cholesterol but about inflammation too. Although cholesterol plays a part in heart disease, especially atherosclerosis, which I have.

Bobby ~ I don't understand why you are being charged $50.00 to write a prescription.

Did your prescription expire or have no more refills and he's charging you this in lieu of an office visit?

I didn't think he could charge you this fee legally unless he does a face to face visit, to arbitrarily charge you $50.00 to write a prescription is questionable. But then I do not know your health insurance plan if they allow this. Usually standard of practice and qualify of care require a face to face.

Just some random thoughts for you Bobby. At least you are getting your prescription delivered to you tonight.
