Hi,
This morning (11:30 am Monday), my tdoc called to check on me. It's hard for me to see her regularly during the school year. I gave her the 20 second update about parents' visit at the end of August and my current sleep situation and then told her I was late for work. She said that she will call in another month and that maybe I/we can find a way to get in to see her. In August, we got over one of my major sleep hurdles. It took us two freaking years of hypnosis and talk to get past the panic I feel about sleep. In the last 7 weeks or so I have been sleeping peacefully around 2:30/3:00/3:30 am instead of much later when the sun is coming up. She was the only one who could help with the sleep. Mari |

That is great Mari. I have anxiety at bedtime that keeps me up. I'm so use to it though that now I believe I perfer it this way. Well, on one hand I do and on another I don't. I could use the lady that helped you it sounds like.

Mari - that is great news, sleep is so important. I am glad that you finally got the sleep issue resolved.

Dear Bizi,
I'm better because I am less panicked about sleep. Yet, I still have the habit of staying up late. Part of the sleep thing could be because of cortisol levels being up and down at the wrong time of day and night (did a 16 hour mail-in saliva test on this.) Also I have tremendous brain fog throughout the day that only seems to lift by the evening -- dunno what that's about. Mostly I think it is about behavior / habit now. One night last week I went to bed as early as 3:30. Most of the time it is 4:30/5:30/6:00 Last "night" it was 7:00 am. I slept all day today. Maybe my tdoc will do this in hypnosis when I see her again starting end of May. She wants to work on weight loss but I think that the sleep time habit will be more useful. Mari |
