Default Asthma Thread 11

Okay I have been away, but not by choice. And I appreciate all the thoughts. And prayers.

I ended up going back to ER on the 30th of December and finally at
about 1:30 the 31st of December they decided to admit me. After
getting the okay from my doctor. Not exactly sure what they had
originally planned, they had wanted to observe me, with permission
and then all the sudden I was being put in a room, but had to wait
2 hours for paperwork, thanks to a loaded ER, with not much staff
as usual. And this is a very fast ER usually, so it shows just how
bad it was. I was put in trauma so I knew they knew I wasn't good.

I had a doctor all the way through this time. And had a xray, and
2 breathing treatments, in ER, and some presidone in IV, and some
other pain medicine. And some other things they were trying to see
if I could be gotten under control. Have to admit I have no clue what
all at present in ER, I was out of it at times. I just felt so bad.

I then went to a room and floor, and felt like a queen. I was treated
so good. And had respiratory treatments for breathing 5 times each
day, was supposed to be 4 but could call for another during the night.
Thanks to someone saying I could I did.

I also had a CT scan for possible blood clot, and the a Echo Cardiogram
for possible pulmonary hypertension, that showed its possible on the
CT scan. I was treated precautionary in hospital for blood clot, and insulin
was given because of the steroids, and had potasium needs. And some
other extra meds here and there.

Just really worth the time, money and all to me. My husband did okay with
it. His biggest problem was coming home and figuring out he had to go find
Derrick. But he took it in stride and then came to see me twice on Monday,
bringing me one of the medicines the hospital can't get. And then flowers
and a happy new year hat when he figured out I wasn't leaving. HIm and
Derrick.

I heard from both my other sons and saw one of the girls later in the week.
And my husband is just a little to over doing on letting Derrick be home alone,
so he got a earful and poor Derrick did too. I don't allow it because of seizures he chose to yesterday, instead of what I had asked for. Which
wasn't a whole lot different just peace of mind for me.

Anyway, I have a nebulizer thanks to the doctor seeing me yesterday, my
only worry coming home. And I have a appointment with a Indianapolis
Pulmonary doctor on February 11 2008 thanks to her.

She said, that if I didn't like the one doctor going to one of the partners
made it hard. Because at times he had to cover. I was going to let
him come see me yesterday, because he was only one available.

I plan to try and solve some anxiety and nerve issues. If that is possible.
I know that my asthma and breathing create some. But a counselor is
needed to figure it out. SO I have to work on that.

Thanks to everyone, you have been very good at that for me so far.

Dear Donna,
Sometimes people have to have a crisis before the good doctors show up to help.
I'm happy to hear that the ER visit was fruitful.
I imagine that you did feel like a queen when you got 6 breathing treatments a day!
How is the home nebulizer working?

That is sweet about your getting the Party Hat for New Year's.

I came home the night very late of the 2nd. And I've left my couch
very little. Just some small errands and eating mainly.

TOday I'm finding its much worse to leave it. And I'm also seeing
that the nose and the congestion is letting lose well. I'm really
getting worried about the fact that I need to go to Indy and Riley
on Monday for Derrick, I just can't cancel that. So I'm working
on what I can do to get us close enough I can do the travel in the
time I can do it.

I just have no one else that can do it for me. Just usual life. Derrick
goes to Neurology or I would cancel. It takes 6 months to get another
appointment with his neuro and he needs his VNS double checked.

Default I took myself back to see my primary today

Just wasn't sure I was doing better. But she says my lungs are clear so we will see. I'm just going to take time to clear this all. And I'm going to probably get depressed in the time too.

I hate the fact I don't feel like doing anything. And I hate the fact I can't do my job either. I really miss doing my work.

Hoping all are doing well. Hoping by next week to be back more to posting
and feeling better.

By the way my primary decided maybe a anxiety help would be good. So
she prescribed xanax.

Default Xanax is good

Hi,
It's good to see you.
Xanax helps with anxiety for most people but be aware that it can cause depression. Most likely you will be fine with it.

If you don't feel like doing anything, you don't have to. Use this time for quiet time with yourself.

Mari

I'm doing just that pretty much. I'm delegating responsibilities to my husband
and others.

I had to find Derrick a ride to his scrimmage tonight. So its my husband
that is taking him.

I had a long nice nap yesterday, and I'm taking things very quiet.

The xanax yep is for anxiety, I have lots of that when I'm having trouble breathing of course. And we decided to think outside the box and treat it.

So we will see if it helps me. I am just taking it hour by hour right now.

And then doing some things I need to for myself.

Like yesterday, I decided that since I had to stop at Walmart anyway, I
would get my hair cut, shampooed and dried. I haven't been able to do
that in about 3 weeks the way it needed to be done. It was worth
the 15.00 dollars to me.

I am so much more human today. I am not able to take a shower or
bath, but I can sponge clean up. That is just life. I can't afford to
get to wet and not dry fast enough.

By the way, we are in the area of Indiana that has been hit very bad
with the floods, so if I really disappear for more than a day don't worry.

Its because I moved to a hotel. I refuse to go to a shelter, I don't think
my nebulizer and I would be safe there.
