I thought my dentist was full of ----. But I have TMJ also and I had a top guard to start of with. After the first night, I could not believe how many bite marks and scratches were on them.

Even if you eat late at night, you could still rinse with something before putting them in. I use Peridoxyl which is made by Crest and its not harsh like Listerine or any of the other rinses.
