Default I told my supervisor at work that I had a migraine

Hi,
We had a big event at work tonight and another one tomorrow.

I lied and told my supervisor that I had a migraine and needed to go home and would not be back tomorrow.

She asked if I am stressed lately.

(HELLO! Our unit is preparing for two funeral services next week. I wanted to ask her if she were kidding. Stress?? She would know what stress is if she had herself for a boss.)

Hi,
Hubby and I have the same boss.
The boss politely asked hubby what was wrong with me.

Hubby listed some pressures at work that are going on right now and included the death of our colleague. HELLO? She needs to be told this????????

He should have just said "migraine" as I instructed but that is ok.

He knows that under no circumstances is he to tell people that I stay up all night and sleep during the day and can't manage my life.

So mostly he did ok.

The boss is a pill.

I'm starting to feel like I should go to Human Resources and ask for reasonalble accommodations under ADA.
I would ask for
1. no early in the day obligations -- nothing ever before 11:00.
2. a few hours or a day off if I need to de-stress or sleep -- I can work from home or work later on other days.

I hate trying to cover all the time -- it gets stressful to feel like I am faking it.
M.

Oh Mari, I wish I could make it all better, but the best I can do is offer my shoudler to lean on and a big hug. You do really well in spite of the sleep challenges you face. Don't be hard on yourself for needing time off after what's going on at work with the funerals coming up, I would need time off too and not sure I could go to the funerals myself.

It has to be hard. My deepest sympathy to you with all you're dealing with.

Mari

I believe you handle things very well. And I also believe going to
human resource's and putting in a request for some ADA would be
a good idea. I personally think that doing the not before 11:00 am
shouldn't be something that hurts anyone.
And honestly if it were something really important and the request
were put in nicely and you could accomodate once in a great while
I'm sure you would.

I also believe you should be allowed some time off when you need it.
Especially when things like these funerals are coming up.

So go get you some accomoations
