thx for the info anony. unfortunately, I'm now more confused why the server wasn't fixed when it was right in town.

I'm really confused and really hopeful that things get sorted out. I poke around when I can to get a tid-bit of info, but generally find nothing, so I truely understand and comiserate with everyone on their frustrations!

But after reading this entire thread, which BTW held no real information, I found myself asking the same question over & over....can someone simply ask John what the hell is going on? I mean is there no one that can get his ear? Can we go to one of these other projects that he appears to be more interested in and simply get his attention? Can we e-mail him at work, or call him there? Or is there another person that helps him that should be in the know that can give us an update?

I think we have a right to know, is he working on this or have we been abandoned? I find it hard to believe that he wouldn't tell us if he had decided to let OBT die...

Seems like it should be real easy to just ask, versus speculate.

Oh, and trust me, these 'banning' things, of which I only read about here...I know first hand about from other forums...trust me...stuff happens...and I know it hurts when it's directed at you for what seems like no reason...but here's what I've come to believe: not everyone gets along! That's true at school, at work, at the coffee shop, and even in cyber space.

Default Thelma,

I dunno what the call was about. It was days ago and we have PD. How would we remember? LOL We're just friends. Talk fairly often. No explaining, no pretense, and five years after we met in person, somewhat used to each other. We're starting to use the phone more than instant messaging, because one of us can't type worth doo-doo any more, and the other one can't read as well. I forget which.

Be consoled, friend, that there are lots here who "love ya" and many more who actually love you. Come back soon.

Only don't bring any great scientists to introduce. [oh Jaye you're so BAD].

Peace,
Jaye

hi coleysmom. I think many did email and call and were ignored. That was standard procedure from JL for the past year or more, so I don't know the answer, but thought I'd let you know ppl DID try.

Some of the posts in this thread are entirely too cryptic. But, that's just my own take. If one has a PM, the recipient will see it while logged in to this site .

I've interacted with JL - and it was not in indifference toward BT. I don't want to speak for him (nor would I want to present myself of speaking for him in any scope or capacity). I just think a lot of slamming toward him has taken place within threads within this forum and ... Shall he focus on reading/replying here? or working out things on the hardware end for BT?

Ample people have intimated that funds were directed toward this or that without also knowing what he has actually underwritten from his personal finances. It doesn't feel good to read of all the speculation, that is for sure - since it is pure speculation. JL has to pay for living expenses, etc., but... seems hardly anyone cares about that, only that he should not have a job that may take his attention away from thousands demanding this and that. It's just not equitable or fair, I think. He's human. Not perfect. Same goes for me and everyone else.

Every time DocJohn has nicely suggested doing the one-time vent thing related to feelings, it seems: Doesn't work. Thread after thread appears - and the messages are about JL, BT moderators, BT finances, whatever...

I don't think that that is why DocJ. set up this site. I might be mistaken, but... the hatchet cannot possibly be driven in more so than it has been. Maybe it is time to examine how support can be fostered here, since DocJ. was kind enough to open a "home" to us .

Just my li'l thoughts .

((( Peace and hugs ))) and if anyone wants to flame away, please address me via PM. (I'm suggesting such so that things can move in a more positive direction.)

Hi ColeysMom,
Not everyone gets along... right.

But for a forum to support hurting people who are hurting, it just rubs me the wrong way.

Yes, I was banned.

But what hurt me the most was hearing the pain of my friend who was banned who had constantly posted things about how appreciative she was to JL and how great he was and what a good thing he was doing with BT...

Her offense was beyond my comprehension. I mean I did not get why she was banned. It hurt her so much.

So, am I surprised he did it to you guys, too...

Take a guess.

It is going to keep happening. Some of us were here from the very start of BT2, and of course vented. Some others arrived later....and vented. The site is growing fast, it's unrealistic to expect new arrivals to go back and read every thread, so they arrive, can't know that we've already hashed it to death...and vent.

So while those of us who have already done the venting can now shut up and get on with other matters, don't be too hard on newcomers who *will* not know how things stand, or that next one to mention it is a monkey's uncle .

Perhaps we should have a temporary forum called "BT1 Monkey's Uncle" or something ?

all the best.
