We have DSL through Verizon. When we have precipition falling on the house, liquid or frozen, or in the area, we lose our internet connection. Now ticking off DH because he just missed an eBay auction is one thing but I hope to get a job that demands a reliable internet connection. DH refuses to get cable or satelite. I doubt he will drop Verizon. What can I do to improve connection reliability? Thanks!

We have Verizon and never had any problem like that.
Have you had you house connections and street connections checked ? or is it something in the Verizon lines in your area? Do other neighbors have the same problem or only your house? That would tell you if it is the Verizon lines or possibly the connections for your home only. You can do a visual check of your wires & phone line connections that show above ground. Do any look like water could be causing a short or something? for the rest of it Verizon should come out and do a check for you. If someone dug near the line underground maybe it was nicked..?? Just enough so when it rains it has a problem??? ours runs under and across our driveway so we kind of know where it is in general. wired /plugged in?? or wireless and lose the wireless connection?

I had a similar problem some time ago, and it turned out that rain was getting into a faulty street connection.
The maintenance people came and replaced some cables, and that fixed my problem. I hope your answer is as simple. Good luck.

![]() ![]() The idiot landlord next to us has torn down our phone line too may times for me to remember. Every time it happens my DH reattaches it to our house and the utility pole. I think DH said if the phone company was called out we would have to pay. Idiot isn't going to and the current renters can't help idiot is an idiot. (All of the rotted tree should have been dropped years before it was. ![]() ![]() ![]()

Worth a call and get the lines looked over, anything before the house is their concern. Only after the inside area the home we need our protection for, Good Luck, di
