I just got a new notebook and, horror or horrors, it's got Windows 8. Yuck! It makes me nostalgic for VISTA.
Anyway, my big problem is that I can't stop the cursor from opening, automatically, anything it touches. I went into setting and it says this function is off. Liar, liar, pixels on fire. Following the advice on one site. I actually enabled the hovering, restarted my computer and then disabled it. Didn't work for me. I checked on Microsoft support, but, even before my TBI, I wouldn't have been able to make heads or tails of the multi-paragraph response (couldn't really call it an answer) written in techno babble. I understand that this is a fairly common bug in Windows 8. Has anyone else had to deal with this? Can someone explain to me (and I mean really, really, really dumb it down ![]() As I have very limited dexterity in my hands, my cursor flies all over the place, so this is more than a minor nuisance. Thanks! |

There is a free download to 8.1 for computers but I don't know if notebooks qualify. That is supposed to help with all the 8 frustrations.
Hubby just read that 8 and 8.1 are being surpassed by new Windows programs, that will be like the "older" versions. When we bought this new computer we got the 7... whew!
