Melody,

hello, let me introduce myself. i am a techie and do comp updates and repairs and remote sessions for tech support all the time.

the hp recovery disks are a good thing to have.
personally i use memorex dvd-rw disk on all my hp systems and drives.

go ahead and make the recoery disks and lable them with the date made and what it is and save in a protected disk holder.

it should only take one disk.
