I'm not too impressed with goldman...... sorry. I don't care for his approach when explaining dental procedures.

I think this is an interesting read on root canals. It also has a great diagram of the anatomy of a tooth showing the microscopic canals as the dark lines in the pink section labeled "dentin". In a real tooth these canals are very tiny and curvy.

The gum area feels pretty good too. I am doing the salt rinses too

The nerve could have died but I think you would have had other symptoms of that happening..........and since you don't...... let's be optimisitc that the area is healing,

Keep rinsing with salt water for a few more days .... it can't hurt!

Great, I was only kidding, for real it couldve died ?? I still feel cold when eating icecream :D Also still feel a slight pain when I hit it when brushing.

IF the nerve dies then what happens, I probably dont want to know. Since I have been doing the rinses the gum area around the socket feels better do you think thats why alot of the biting pain is better, I mean when I bite by accident :D

What is the chances the nerve just up and died even tough it wasn't hurting only when biting....Man I gotta quit asking questions

Stay focused on the positive.......... the rinsing has made it feel better so perhaps there was some minor gum irritation that needed some soothing. Cold sensitivity usually indicates recession along the gumline or open margin on a filling, not nerve problems. However, since it is only slight..... do not worry about it!

Unless you develop other symptoms, which you probably won't, it sounds like your tooth is going to be ok!

its not really cold sensitive its just like the other teeth IF you hold ice cream against the tooth for a few seconds you can feel it cold. It goes away when you remove the cold.

It seems like before I started the rinsing there was a small pc of bone sticking out, that seems to have either fallen out or disappeared. This is the area that was most sore. I felt it with my finger and it felt like a bone sliver. It seems gone now bu is still mildly sore.

Before when it was real sore and I would bite my tounge between the lower 1st molar and the upper tooth the lower first molar felt like a crack pain.

Now when this happens it doesnt hurt. How long should I keep up with the warm rinses ?? I would hope the nerve is ok again I had ZERO pan when not biting on it and them only certin foods.

How long before i should test it wih hard foods ??

How about you keep doing the rinses and avoid eating hard foods on that side until the new year? Does that sound like a good plan to you? You can bring in the new year with......... a pretzel!!!!

I've enjoyed your questions........ it's good to keep a sense of humor when we're concerned about something and you certainly have managed to do that!
