Today it was the worst I ever remember it being. But we went to an amusement park Monday all day, slept a lot on Tuesday. So when I got back tot he Y yesterday for my aquatic excersize, she had increased the reps from 4 each to 8. So today I'm not sure if it was all brain fog or just exhaustion. As usual I am always much more alert in the evening so I'm fine now. But this morning was scary! I told my husband not to trust me driving.

Hi Doydie,
I'm a newby here, but not new to MS. Sounds like you have been very busy. Hopefully the brain fog was just exhaustion. It's good that you were aware of your condition. That is always a good sign! ♥Nali |

I feel the same way Doydie. This heat has me mixed up. I make many corrections when I post after I have been out on my deck.
The sun and heat do me in. The temps have been high but now down for a few days until it gets hot in the 90's again. Eeeek! Did I miss Spring? Nali, I bet down under it is cooler now. Lucky you..and Koala. ![]()

Good call on the driving, it takes a lot of courage to ask your spouse to drive when the fog invades, good on you!
I honestly don't know exactly know why some days I too can have such bad cog fog compared to others. I know it can be attributed to too much stimulation such as company, parties, stress, noise, lots of activity, but sometimes, there seems to be no correlation to anything I can put my finger on. About 10 days ago i started ritulin to help with my major fatigue and the one thing I have food out for sure about it is that it has lifted cog fog! I am on a very low dose, first thing in the am, but until it wears off, I am so far very happy with the results in this regard. None of the other energy stimulants did anything fore cog fog for me and this is a unexpected bonus. Maybe cog fog is a warning that we are over doing it at times? |

i agree with all the above.
i just moved to FL (in the summer, yuck) and i can't be outside but a few minutes before i feel the weakness and fatigue set in. then, it seems like i can't think straight. see how you feel after you've rested. i bet you'll feel better.

Fatigue, heat, or to much going on (Walmart Syndrome) give me brain fog. And sometimes it just appears out of the blue.
Before I was diagnosed, I was scared I might have Alzheimer's. I remember asking my PCP, "Aren't I too young to be this tired and stupid?" He responded, "How tired and stupid are you?" When I described the crushing fatigue and the cog fog, he agreed that it wasn't normal, even if I'd been 30 years older. Sometimes my brain just locks up, like an old computer with too many programs running.

Thanks for all your thoughts. I'm feeling much better today.
Sorry Sally, with grand kids as adorable as mine I can't stay away from amusement parks. Monday was a fairly cool day. I do have my cooling vest and have used it in the past at Holiday World. I just don't like to. The whole week has made us think about how I am going to protect myself in October when we all go to Disney world. We won't be in water and I think that will make a difference. I know I can take my scooter to the tram and go back to the hotel but I'm afraid I am going to have a GPS unit just to find the entrance to the park! |
