Question Trazadone?

My primary care physician just prescribed a low dose of trazadone for me to help with insomnia. I have been taking ambien for almost four years, but it is not helping me at all. I thought that when I started taking tizandine that I would sleep better, especially when taking it with ambien, but I still am only sleeping off and on for a few hours most nights.

Has anyone had any experience with trazadone. I am not sure what dosage I will be starting at. I think they may be 50 mg. The nurse told me to take 1/2 of a pill and to see it that helped. Then, I can gradually increase the dosage up to 3 pills. I should just see what works for me.
