Tongue Neuro check up today

MS neuro check up today. Everything was ok but I had gained ten pounds since March.

Told him I was concerned and wondered if my work schedule is responsible, etc... Told him the primary doctor said I'm still within average for my height. His response: so, you are 20 pounds overweight. Then gave me his tips for losing weight.

Oh well, he isn't a psychologist, I suppose that's what I need. Other than that, everything else was good.

Overall a good visit, right?

If you work the overnight shift I think there is some research to support weight gain although I know a ton of overnight workers and some are heavy, some average and some thin so I haven't seen a pattern.

Are you able to exercise? I'm fortunate in that I am able to work out and it has made a huge difference in my mood as well as my waistline.

Wiz, no he's not a head doc (well yeas he is but not that kind)...but he takes the whole person into consideration and not just our MS...I guess that's what makes him a good doc.
You know that stress ups our levels of cortisone which will help retain weight, right? The best thing you can do for yourself is do some mindfulness exercises for fifteen minutes at the start of your day and also keep a daily food journal for a few weeks...
Don't stress about it! You are a busy person who has a lot on her plate...

You skinny thing, you couldn't possibly be 20 lbs overweight.

Absolutely agrees with Sal, I've seen Wiz with my own eyes and she is in NO WAY overweight!

Wiz, you were skin and bones last time I saw you and I doubt you have changed all that much since then, so quit stressing about weight and concentrate on "fit" and "eating healthy"!

Wiz, this is the first visit that Wynn didn't rag on me about my weight...probably because I was in so much pain from leg spasms...He always encourages me to work on it because it will lessen the weight my poor legs have to tote around...always looking out for what's best for us...
