Default The headaches are back

ok, im officially sick of this. I am having headaches again. My eyes hurt to move, I wake each morning with a mind numbing headache, and its followed each day with struggles to get from one to the next. Some are visual migraines, and some are plain old headaches.

I dont have sinus trouble. I dont have a fever. I just got over ON, and dont think its that again, but have an MD appointment next week with the eye surgeon.

What are your headache tips and tricks. Im so tired of this! What do you do for your own headaches?

Sorry about the headaches and eye pain, Deij. I take aspirin for regular headaches- works fast- don't suppose you have that kind of HA. And my other head pain is TN and that is a whole other trip w mostly Tegretol.

The "hurts when I move my eyes" part sounds like ON. Hope not.

The day is over for me. Went to the Chiro and that helped. Had a small lunch and that made my tummy feel better, but got home to be ambushed by my son with relationship troubles. He really needed someone to listen, so I kept my dark glasses on so he couldnt see my red eyes, and I invited him in, sat him down, and listened. Simply listened. Sometimes the best thing we can say is nothing at all. I gave a couple of tiny comments, but for the most part, I kept silent and let him work it out in his own head.

Im going to soak in a warm bath, throw on my jammies, and take drugs, and go to sleep! Sleep is one of the only ways to break one of these things for me.

Jack the cat got a new cardboard scratcher so he is happily digging it to pieces, and will soon seek sun. Im so pleased with him.

Good night.

Dej - So sorry about the headache. I don't get many headaches and the ones I do get are mostly sinus headaches. I've had a couple of migraines in my life and that's it. DD20 gets headaches a lot. For sinus headaches she takes ibuprofen. For migraines, she takes Extra Strength Tylenol. But, the Tylenol sometimes is not enough for her. Warm compresses helps her sometimes. Sitting in a dark quiet room helps her too.

I hope you start feeling better soon.

I get migraines sometimes. My neuro gave me a Rx for something called "Midrin". It's apparently an older migraine medication. It works great for me.

When I had optic neuritis a couple of years ago and my optic nerve felt like it was trying to make my eyeballs explode, the Midrin actually helped some. Didnt take it all away, but made it mostly bearable as long as I wasnt out in the bright sunlight.

I have had daily headaches for just over five years. Mine are due to ON as far as I know, and for that Elavil works wonders! Tylenol and Advil together will take the edge off, and if it's Tylenol PM it usually knocks me out so I can sleep some of it off. My other face pain is TN as well.

You could try lavender and peppermint scented oils together rubbed on your temples and the back of your neck, that helps with migraines. That's what this is and I have a friend plagued with recurrent migraines, she swears by this stuff! I can't use it because I'm allergic to lavender though

I hope you get rid of it fast!

its another headache filled day. I have been waking up with them. visual migraines rotating with real migraines all day for the last 3 days. Im really sick of this.

I did the chiro, took pain pills, went back to sleep, stayed quiet, used the TENS unit, got a massage, used hot packs, and several other interventions that didnt work out.

im out of ideas.

May everyone w head pain find some healing today.

I'm trying to think of all the things I have used for TN, ON and migraines. The ones that aren't mentioned are music and imagery. I also used peppermint.

The peppermint was Dr. Bronner's peppermint oil. I used it in the shower and washed my face w the imagery that i was washing the pain away. Then rested.

Another imagery was to paint my face w an imaginary paint brush w novacaine gel.

I used music that had no words and was "airy" w space in it. No beat. A meandering piano piece was good.

Ann - I read an article about music as an aid for pain and pain related anxiety. It actually was very effective according to a study that was done. I wish I could remember where I read that article. It may have been a link from NewsBot on here. If I find it I will post it. YouTube has lots of great relaxation music and some are hours long. Like you, I don't want a hard beat or voices or anything like that, just the soothing combining of notes and instruments.

Dej - Hope you start to feel better as the day goes on.
