I took Betaseron for 12 years then switched to Avonex because I had to only inject once a week.
I had horrible injection site reactions with Betaseron, but no problems at all with Avonex.

Its funny you mentioned knee pain because I had knee pain too. BUT...I had started walking for exercise and had to buy really good shoes. The knee pain went away......so for me, the knee pain was from bad shoes.
I have only been taking Avonex for a couple months. Spasticity is a big problem for me and I notice pain AROUND the joints which I attribute to tight muscles and tendons. ♥
