The opposite is worse, and makes me so mad.
DSD or detrusor sphincter dyssynergia is a common urinary symptom in MS and was one of my earliest symptoms. It means there is a lack of communication and coordination between the muscle that is suppose to relax to let urine out (urinary shincter) and the muscle that is supposed to contract to empty the bladder (detrusor). Zanaflex did help me but there are some others that work too...like Flomax. Sometimes it requires self-cathing though.

If this is an acute new symptoms for you then you need to call your neuro, Cindy. If you have not emptied in more than 12 hours you need to do something emergently.

I guess it's better than being wet but it can get pretty annoying to spend so much of your day waiting for urine to come out. I did find that just sitting there and trying to relax and let it come out was sometimes more effective than pushing. Running water while you are sitting also helps a bit.

OY! If it's not one thing it's another.

Editing to add....Hurray! Glad the immediate crisis has passed. That happened to me very shortly after diagnosis and I was in big time pain!
