I bought a crochet hook set the other day that some MSers who like to craft might like.
I returned mine because I didnt like the way it felt to me, but I could see how some people might like them if they cant handle using a regular crochet hook. the company that makes them is called Provo Craft, and they're "ergonomic" crochet hooks. They have two different handles that are kind of chunky, and I think they were invented by a woman who had a mobility problem of sorts and didnt have very much use of her hands. I think she got her husband to make the handles. I cant remember what was wrong with the woman, but I think she may have had MS or rheumatoid arthritis. I may someday buy the hooks again, but since I dont have a problem with my hands yet, I didnt feel too bad taking them back and buying yarn with the money instead. |

I use an onion holder when I need to slice one.
There are a lot of models out, but I recommend one of the stainless ones as the the wooden ones seem to lose their tines too easily. Hmm, can't post a link or an image till I have 10 or more posts, but a search for "onion holder" will come up with quite a few if anyone is interested. Makes slicing round things much safer. ![]() Better hurry up and post some more. |

My spasticity often lasts for days, whether a leg cramp or hand cramp. I finally figured out what it was after reading and reading about other folks' symptoms.
I was of the mind that it was arthritis, after years of outdoor work and wrapping my hands around paddles and gripping ropes while hanging on for dear life...LOL. I worked March to November regardless of the weather and I figured I was paying for it in middle age for having so much fun! I have a Tupperware shaker cup, the lid is easy to lock down even while having major grip problems, it has a flip top lid that opens and closes easily. I think they sold them as an instant shake and pudding mixer, because it came with a blender wheel inside it. I use this ALL the time. It has measuring lines on the side. You can use it to drink from, to measure with, to blend spices and gravies, literally anything that needs to be mixed. I think Rubbermaid makes a version, and probably several others have knockoffs, but the Tupperware cup seal hasn't failed yet, and it has to be ten years old!

![]() ![]() The Knork is a simple, single utensil that functions as a knife and fork together as one. Its innovative shape has a balanced handle that provides stability and comfort. This design enables you to more easily cut food by using a rocking motion on the gently curved outside tines. The Knork is 100% forged 18/10 stainless steel which makes it durable, and dishwasher safe. The Knork comes with a limited lifetime warranty ( from the knork website) i watched a show on foodnetwork. i HAD to have one. i injured my wrists and sometimes i just drop things. these are easy to hold. no trying to use a knife and fork to cut up your food. just the knork. ![]() great thread cindy. ![]()

I must write an awful lot whilst working. I usually try and use a large pen so as to avoid cramping in my hands. When I can't locate one, I wrap an elastic around the pen so it becomes larger, and easier to hold on to.
Just an easy hint, that is cheap, and can be done just about anywhere. ![]() Thank you for this thread, Cindy. I think I am in need of a trip to TARJET!! ![]()
