Hmmm after hearing this, perhaps I was right with my comment on your other thread. He is the freak.

I agree with those who have suggested writing a letter. Write the letter, give him a chance to respond and then see how you feel. It might end up that no matter what he says or does that you may not be able to feel secure again. I know it would be hard for me to trust him.

So, get your MRI, get your infusion, come take care of your mom, then when things settle down you can write the letter and research options for a new neuro.

[QUOTE=FlyFishin Momma;Craig....even if her dhs name was on the release info to list....SHE WAS SITTING RIGHT THERE. He should have discussed with her in a more professional way his thoughts and concerns...not going to her dh like she was a nut case and couldnt be told that....

I say again ...O-M-G!

Keep us posted and if ya ever need to talk....you know how to find me lol....[/QUOTE]

You are so right about this. Heck! She WAS sitting right there and SHE is the patient. What did the neuro think, DH "wasn't" going to discuss this conversation with her?

Give me a brake!

How old is this doctor? What he did sounds like something my grandfather would do! **Let's not upset the little lady - we men will just discuss her "fragile condition" behind her back and she'll be none the wiser.** Give me a break! What would he have done if you didn't have a husband - or one that went with you to the appointments? Did he honestly not think that Tim would NOT have mentioned this to you? Good grief - with doctors like this we certainly DO need anxiety meds!

Before my next appointment with this baboon I would make a list of questions and put him on the spot - ask him point blank what he was thinking when he "slipped the note" to your hubby. Or better yet - have Tim ask him and let the doc know that you didn't appreciate the breach of trust.

Or. . . . . .just let all of us know when and where your next appointment is and we'll all meet you there and give him a piece of our mind (s) - collectively I bet we have at least one complete mind to work with!!

Thank you EVERYBODY!!!

I was thinking I was a crazy bi#$% for a little while. Well, I might just be a little crazy, LOL.

Craig- When I went to the er I told them that I had MS and that my doctor sent me in. I told them his name. They didn't call him.

I think when you go to the hospital and tell them that you have MS they automatically assume whatever problem you are having is related to the disease.

I'm debating about whether to send my doctor a letter or wait until I can formally direct my ire at him in person.

I think if I send him a letter and wait to see him for a response, he may have a little too much time to come up with some convoluted excuse for his and his staff's behavior. I won't allow that to happen.

I am a rather level-headed person and can usually come up with a way to express myself without sounding like a raving lunatic. I will make him feel like the aZZhoal that he is. I can stick it to him with a big smile on my face. I am feeling a sort of cold and calculating type of rage right now. It is probably misdirected somewhat because of all of the other things going on in my life. (It's a very good thing that I won't see him until next month.)

Pardon my language, btw. You really wouldn't want to hear me in person right now.

After I see his reaction, I will decide how to proceed.

Hugs to all, and thanks again for the support. I am sorry for being so needy lately. LOL.

Joel,

You need a new doctor. That was really hard for me to read the whole thing, but I did...

Finding a new doc is a pain, but sometimes it is a necessity that actually leads you to a better doc.

I wish you luck.

sorry, and hugssssss

that wasnt appropriate, even if he wondered...then he should ask you questions like from a scale of one to ten how is the pain..or whatever.....

then if he wanted to truely to ask your hubby, from his prospective how is your sxs....but to say how he did wow....

reminds me of the neuro I seen, that only seen me for 10min...seen I lost a baby once full term, and my health history...then says, that all my cogfog is ADD...(even though neuropysch doing that testing didnt say that, she said something neurological going on), she said the balance is inner ear, (although ENT said no not inner ear), then said the rest is ALL stress/anxiety...

when I asked her if ADD, inner ear issues, and the sxs I am having due to her anxiety idea..go away during pregnancy...she said not sure on most..but that the sxs from anxiety go away due to I am HAPPY when preggo.....reminder this is after going over my past of losing a baby full term...

then she went on to say, that she would order MRI, and EEG, but that when those tests prove negative..cause IT IS NOT MS (is how she saiid this) then we will get me on meds for ADD...and that I should make sure I have hubby with me at next apt...looking at me like I was a kid.....

as you see I havent seen her again..ugggg

sorry..for my rant...good luck, I would speak to him, in person if you are up to it, and tell him how disappointed you are...based on responce....then I would find a new neuro....(as even if he is sorry, the other stuff of not paying enough attention to your chart to know about you...find a new dr) hugssss, sarah

To me, there is nothing worse than feeling like you're not being heard. If you believe he's a good doctor, than by all means give him another chance. But if he's still caught up in his preconceived ideas and not really hearing what you're telling him, I'd put the Help Wanted sign back out..

P.S.
On a lighter note, it must be getting close to my bedtime because when I read the title of your thread, I read "Reason for the finger in the nose..". Sometimes I think I need a lot of help..

I know all about not wanting to switch doctors. (see my post above); especially, when there are extenuating circumstances. However, if my doctor doubted what I told him, what is the point in continuing to see him?

He doesn't believe you and he has broken your trust. What's left?

I just read this thread and OMG!

If a doctor did that to me, my DH would've been madder than I could ever be. I can hear his comment on the way out the door now. "come on, we're finding a new neuro!". Actually, I probably would've heard his voice booming throughout the office as he had a talk with the doc.

A little background - my DH's mother is a surgical nurse. Docs trying stuff like this or talking down to patients drives my DH nuts since he learned how to read by reading Grays Anatomy and other medical stuff.

MS is an unpredictable disease that is unique to everyone. I know from experience; my mom and my grandmother (dad's mom) both had this disease - and it effected them VERY differently. It's even effecting me a little differently. I don't think there are any "absolutes" regarding this. Trends, maybe. But that's it.

Sorry you had such a bad time.
