I had a six month follow up visit with my neuro. Let me just say that he is wonderful, he listens and answers my questions, he doesn't dismiss my concerns, he's kind and down to earth. I can't say enough good things about him.

I've been having issues with my sinuses on the right side for months now, and increasingly bad headaches along with transient vision changes in my right eye. I had been blaming the headaches on my sinuses, but he believes I've been having migraines. I started having bad headaches two years ago when I had my first flare. I didn't think they were migraines because I wasn't sensitive to light. My neuro said not everyone is light sensitive with migraines. He put me on Topamax. It takes a couple of months to really work in preventing migraines, but hopefully it will help.

I've also had a lot of pain and stiffness in my left leg, starting in my hip and going to my knee, along with worse back pain than usual. He put me on Celebrex for that. He had me go get xrays of the left knee and hip to check for arthritis. I had taken some samples of Celebrex before, and the anti-inflammatory properties just seemed to make me feel better all over.

Lately I've been feeling (and getting around) like an old woman. I'm hoping the ol' joints loosen up a bit before spring so I can get outside while the weather's pretty!

So sorry for all your new problems and pain.

But as much as you like your doctor and how nice he treats you, your post makes me think of how limited so many MDs are. They know how to test, re-test and prescribe...but.. not how to get to the sources of your problems. Mostly cuz they just dont know or know how to.

AND some meds cause sinus problems, even depression as a result of a build up of toxicity.

I know getting relief is good but try and research other alternatives to treat your pain and stiffness. Many times its a build up of toxicity, esp sitting on the brain. They are safe ways to detox this toxicity and even ways to evaluate where in your body/brain you are toxic and from what.

What concerns me is that you have this on ONE side. THat just doesnt sound like arthritis to me. It FEELS like arthritis.

Also take a look at the foods you eat and how many processed chemicals you are putting in an already compromised body ok?

Or... just dismiss what I say if you dont agree, I"ll understand.

Still, as you can read, I have a bias against educated medical guesses with ONLY RX meds without knowing for sure what is causing new symptoms.

But..that's me.

Migraines azre like ms, you don't get all the sx. Not everyone gets them exactly the same.

I am sensitive to storms, of all things! Most people get nauseous, but I only did maybe 2 times.

Topamax really works for my migraines. It helps with daily headaches as well. I had a constant h/a before I took it.

It doesn't work for everyone, but there are other meds if this is not the one.

I hope the Topamax works for you too!

Migraines are nothing to play around with. In fact I just heard something...can't remember where or exactly what ....about the case for treating them ASAP....they apparently cause problems in the brain when NOT being treated....

Arthritis on one side? Why not? I know several people with arthritis in one place....it isn't an all or nothing disease... But I, personally/ IMHO, would check with a specialist to find out exactly which arthritis you do have.
