I had to do some reflection after reading this thread. In reality, no one offers to help me. It took some thinking before I realized that actually it is a good thing for me and I understand where my family and friends are coming from.

Striving to be independent, I can get very stubborn. Even if I am struggling to walk or hold something, I do it myself and quickly reject any offers for help. DBF, family and my friends know this about me and each have told me if I need help, ask, which on occasion I have done. I am thankful for them for respecting my need to maintain independence.

It is, however, hard when some says "What can I do to help?" That is such an open question and hard to answer on the spot. I usually end up saying, "nothing," only to think of something later on.

AMN - I am sure that changing sheets is not the only task you need help with. Make a list of the tasks and invite your friends over for dinner one night. Let them know that you appreciate their offers to help with some things but really, these are the things that you need help with. Then ask who can do what on what days. So your sheets end up getting changed on Monday instead of Tuesday, no biggie. LOL.

They really are good friends, B2, I'm totally blessed in that department. They're just as obnoxious as I am, is all. I'm not letting them go that easily, what kind of friend would that make me?

BTW - You can e-mail them articles on how to properly change sheets and make a bed. Very subtle hint. LOL. I wonder if they have a video of it on YouTube that you can send. LOL.

I say invite them over, throw your sheets on the couch and chairs. Let the dishes pile up in the sink and leave an empty toliet paper roll on the holder. I don't think they will need to ask what needs to be done. lol

I know how I am changing sheets on a bad balance day so . . .I am sure it would do the trick. You would get 10 people over there changing your sheets at the same time. LOL. Then you can post a video on "How Many People Does it Take to Change Cindy's Sheets?"

I do the laps in my scooter....Much easier.. Bed is in the middle of the room, with headboard against the wall, so both sides and bottom are open.

I could have used your help this morning, when I fell..

LOL, why? Some kind of flattener? I'd have fallen right on top of you and you'd have been crushed like a bug!

You okay?
