I'm thinking it's your sinuses as well, as I recall that noise from a previous life.

I used to get a lot of sinus infections (no ear problems), before I had dozens of polyps removed from my sinus passages. I vaguely remember that snap, crackle, pop, and I would also quite often get numb teeth and gums. Fatiguqe, headache and dizziness was what usually lead me to the doctor to be checked out.

MS does not "cause" an increase in body temp, although our symptoms might act up when we have an infection of some sort. It doesn't sound like you have any "MS-type" symptoms from this infection, YET.
