the naprason...killed my aching belly.......one of the nueros mentioned methadone..........the 420 club.....its tough for me to say because i am still employed by the sheriffs dept.......boy 1 could imagine that it would work some

flxerall in stuff like that...goes down like bad candy too....still feel the pain but my belly hurt too....

what kind of pain is it......thats the kicker,...i was seriously injured at work....one cause....then i started getting these sx's.....with neck..back leg ..tailbone pain.....muscle spasms in the legs...... hurt to sit..stand or lay down.......migraines..etc....that is just the pain sx's...

so each dr//nuero...really wants the next one to manage my pain.....and check this out....i fired my pcp....just to go back when the others flopped......

he told me i must lower my expectations...that this pain..over a year is more than likely here to stay.....kinda like a stray cat...

thanks all 4 the help...

The Dr..Gave me The long acting Tramadol.......Told him I tried it in other forms....So this AM being a man of my word took one.......

It gave me that lUmP in the throat feel....No pain relief....It made it a little tough to breath...Nothing to blow out of proportions...But this is definitely not the norm....

When I played hockey I got a stick to the throat...This is the best way to describe the sensation....Its 12 now I took the pill at 0800....And I'm still alive.....

Should I be skeptical and try it one more time to see if it happens again?

Nah...I don't think so....The wife will come home and have to peel 220 me off the floor......Aint no fake opiate going to do me in....I want something flashy...
I'm kidding of course.....Well no...When I go...I want it to be something exciting....To feel that rush before I go..Then I'll remember I was once alive..... ANY FIGHTER JET PILOTS OUT THERE?

Don't get discouraged dear, a doc never call back, and with an allergic reaction? I can top ya! I had an allergic reaction to my IVSM throat swelling, eyes bulging out of my head....the home health nurse calls and says well can you take a Benadryl? I said ummm I've taken 4! What about your epinephirine? Been there did it ten minutes ago....well your doctor is not returning my pages can you slow the infusion down? Are you kidding me? I stopped it like 15 minutes ago. Oh. Well I will keep trying to call your doctor.....4 days later....I called home health and said ummm well I almost died my doctor never called.....the nurse never called back and I took my IV out two days ago, were you planning to check on me or did you guys forget I existed? Ermmm, well we knew you were a nurse and probably took care of it but ermmm it was definitely an oversight on our part.
YA THINK????? Hope that makes u feel better or at least gives you a laugh! Seriously I understand how rough it is! And I have quit all my meds except muscle relaxers and grin and bear it because I have to!

My husband went through this type of doctor patient relationship for many years. It wasn't until five years ago when we met Jim's current spinal cord doctor that Jim finally knew what being somewhat pain free felt like. His doctor has a strong belief that anything that helps one of his patients live a better quality of life is not addicting. He believes there is no such thing as an addiction if your taking the medicine to help ease pain and suffering.

My husband currently takes methadone at 20mgs twice a day and his pain level now stays at a 4-5. He also smokes mj at each pill time to help ease that pain. He doesn't smoke it any other time unless there are days like you mentioned. By taking methadone and mj he has been able to cut back on his gabapentin, tizantidine, and valium. I personally see that as a good thing and so does his doctor and neuro.

I do think you deserve something to ease your pain. No one should be suffering in pain with all the meds out there. My husband does not get "high" on methadone or mj because it goes straight to the source pain.

I wish you well and hope you find another doctor who can help ease your pain. Keep looking, they are out there.

Disclaimer: I am not in any way suggesting anyone should do what my husband is doing. Each person is different.

Sheesh, Pete, it sure sounds like you need someone on your side. I'm sorry, that so far, your med care for pain has been a bust.

Keep looking, sweetheart and maybe you'll finally get lucky, and find the right combo of meds for you, as Sandy's DH and Snoopy have.
