I haven't really figured this one out. I seem to have a low tolerance for some kinds of noises that I never had before. Lots of noises going on at once, like parties *shudder*, where lots of people are talking in different tones and volumes, and there is background music, clinking of dishes, chairs squeeching across the floor, etc.
Sometimes I can't talk on the phone, the voice through the receiver is like an ice pick. Certain sounds like car horns, small yappy dogs, certain people's voices...aaaaarrrgggh! I can still turn up the tunes and holler along, but I can't do background music if I'm doing anything that requires thinking.
