HA! Whatever works for you, beautiful.
![]() We all have different angles of attack. That's a Moosism. Translated; we all have different ways that fit us to get the results we want that are similar goals of others. The question in the thread just reminded me of 'Shawshank Redemption' and one of the morals of the story. Guy's in prison. At first you hate it. Then you get used to it and accept it. Eventually... you even come to depend on it. Me? I will go NOT go quietly into that dark night. ![]() ![]() ![]() I gotta make up for lost time of being a drunk.

I was talking to my pain doc and explaining what I could no longer do before the last two rounds of treatments. I was not able to garden, to vacuum, to lift my granddaughter safely. I had not been able to play my guitar for nearly a year.
I had just started recovering with the doc's help and he said for all that, I seemed to have a decent outlook, came in to the office in a good mood and such. I admitted I wasn't always in a real good mood but something I tried to keep in mind was this, I wasn't everything, I wasn't perfect but that was okay. My car has a too-small trunk and you cannot drive it in the snow, but still, it;s a cool car. It has its weaknesses but that doesn't make it a bad car. No car can do everything. My purses, some are too small to hold a lot, some are really fancy, but not too practical - there is not one that will go with everything in my wardrobe, but all of them are useful for something. Everything does not fit in my trunk or my handbag, and I can't fit it all in my day either - so? I don't get depressed about what's not fitting in my handbag. And as soon as I get *used to* being able to put this much in, or to doing this and that, life will change again. I don't bother getting used to, just as long as I get going.

To me I just have a new 'normal'. I know I am optimistic and part of that it that I can walk fine (unless I'm extremly fatigued mentally or physically), I only use a scooter or wh/ch whenI'm doing something like going to an amusement park or zoo. I have cog/fog but that is also at it's worst when I'm extremely physically or emotionally exhausted. So way do I consider myself OK? I guess because of my age and state in life. I'm 58, kids gone, will own my home next year, have bery little debt/ But the big thing is this. I think God gave me the kick in the butt that I needed. I am far happier now than when I was working. I was able to go to my daughters home for a week when she gave birth to each of my grandaughters. I saw them being born. I have the enrgy that I can play with them when they are here. Now they know I don't want them any longer than 2 days cause I'm flat on my back then but it's OK. I enjoyed my two days. I was an RN and let nursing define who I was. My family came second and my husband and marriage came third. So I haven't worked now since 5/99 and love it! I also think I'm being objective because nursing gave me a nice SSD check. In two yeras I can start drawing a nice pension check form my old job.
I don't know how you young kids do it out there. I did have a tough time adjusting to finding the new me. Good luck |

I get this way too; but then I eventually slap myself and realize that when I get used to it (i.e. accept it without question/fear/anger/frustration) is when I will have given up. I hope I never give up.
