We need a new mattress so I'm curious to see your responses to this. We have a firm mattress, my husband swears it's the only kind to go with. But I get extreme shoulder pain when sleeping on my side, because the mattress has no "give". We're both of average to lower weight and from everything I've read, lighter people do better with softer mattresses. He has back pain too, and I'm thinking it might help him also to have a softer mattress....

BTW, I love the new smiley collection...
