This is a friendly reminder from your fellow myasthenic, especially to those who host relatives for Easter dinner.
You know I'm right, but you will ignore me. I actually fully intend to ignore my own advice. So, let's just say: don't overdo it to the point of hospitalization, and make sure you that you have so much fun that when you pay for it later, you can say, "But it was worth it!" Annie57, I'm thinking of you, and hoping that you're OK. Abby |

Hi Abby, good advice!!! I'm on holiday, hopefully the most exerting thing I will be doing will be the easter egg hunt, hiding and then finding eggs to fill our baskets.....and then eating the chocolate :-) Hope you have a great easter :-)

mmmmmm.... chocolate bunnies...
![]() Great advice Abby. Every year I say that I won't overdo it but like everyone else, I somehow seem to do just that. It will be easier this year because my kids are now older (15 and 12) so a lot has been scaled back in the Easter Celebration. Will dye some eggs on Saturday with my daughter and make a couple of small easter baskets, go to Church on Sunday and meet for the family dinner later on where everyone brings a dish which is always great for me! Doing all of that will still have some effect on me but my monthly IVIG is tomorrow so it works out perfectly for me! Wishing everyone a Blessed Easter! ![]() Shari |

Good Advice Abby!
I decided to not make dinner this year. I felt really guilty at first. As I write this I am relaxing until I have to put on my fancy clothes and head on over to the in-laws for dinner. I didn't even offer to bring anything (gasp). I would have been content to lay around the house on this holiday because for some reason I have been a lot weaker lately. I also do so much on every holiday/ family birthday that I can barely manage for a few days afterward. We should all give ourselves a pass whenever possible. ![]() |

Well, I crashed on Holy Saturday, just before the Easter vigil Mass, which is a two-hour liturgical extravaganza with candles. I could have stayed home, but my family loves it so much I hated to miss out. It took two of my fine, strong teenage sons to get me to the car afterwards.
Well, then this morning it was the first beautiful day of spring, and we went to church again in the morning, and then my older kids took us on a picnic. They had bought all the food and everything as a surprise, so how could I resist that? By then I was pretty weak, so I brought my walker, but I can never resist zooming around on that thing (kneeling on the seat) in the parking lot. Hit a crack, fell over forwards. I'm all bunged up. Got home totally wiped out, and my lovely daughters are making our (simple) Easter dinner. All in all, an extremely wonderful Easter, bruises and all...and, yes, I know, no more zooming on my walker. I really have learned my lesson this time. I promise. So I guess I sort of overdid it. Abby |
