Default Legs getting weaker

I am having a harder time getting up and down. Once I am standing, I can walk ok. It is discouraging. I wonder what to expect. Is this typical? Am I on the way down? Or just going through a bad time? I don't have a neuro appointment until March.

My legs got real bad. I could only lift my feet about 2 inches. At the time I was on 60mg of Prednisone. My neuro-muscular Dr said some people can't tolerate large doses of Prednisone. He immediately started a reduction process. After the second reduction I started feeling better. They now have me down to 17 1/2 mg and I'm doing a lot better.

Celeste, I don't know if I'm typical (or if there is a "typical" with MG), but my MG moves around--a lot! Two years ago I was having terrible trouble with the muscles in my sides, so I was walking really strangely, and now they don't bother me at all. Last month it was my arms. I went through a few weeks once where my legs were really weak. Last year at this time I was having trouble with one of the muscles used in swallowing, but no more. For some reason the weakness in my neck doesn't fluctuate.

I don't know what your experience will be, but there's good reason to hope that this new weakness is temporary. It doesn't necessarily mean you're on your way down.

But if you get worse, or get new symptoms, or anything scary, don't wait until March! Call your neuro.

Ditto on what Mike and Abby said.

Give your doc's office a call. They always have "emergency" appts. for times like this. I hope you'll get better soon.

My legs are always by biggest symptom. They are always weak. I have trouble getting up from a chair and going up stairs. I often have difficulty just moving them. I stumble a lot, my right side/foot especially just starts to drag on the rug. It has now started to turn outward a bit and I have fallen twice in the last month. My legs are my guage as to what kind of a day I am having although my eye drooping was my first symptom.
