Hello everyone who takes the time to read this. Thought I'd intro myself.
Otherwise fairly healthy, but a slip and fall on freezing rain covered parking lot six weeks ago derailed life for the time being. It was a nasty fall, but likely there's no such thing as a good one! ![]() Suffering from PCS and the general ignorance of others who are baffled as to why a simple fall would leave a professional woman disabled from work. Finding it very difficult to acquire support. Using some of the info graphics posted to help educate my family first, on why I am in such agony yet incapable of expressing much. Verbal skills affected, memory, concentration, among other significant things, but I'll leave that for the PCS forum. I'm looking for ANY Canadian resources out there. I'm not in a major city, so I feel pretty much abandoned by the medical system. Any Canucks out there? Sincerely, Rri |

Im in Canada, diagnosecd with pcs as well but am also looking for answers. My doctor says all I can do is rest but it is frustrating not to be able to do simple thingslike put on my shoes or make a cup of tea. My big accomplishment this week is using the computer for 5 minutes at a time. Work is understanding so far ( 2 months) but im afraid that wont last. Sometimes even I feel like I need to smarten up and try harder....even though I have found out that just make thingas worse. It is good to know there are others out there with similiar issues. Looking forward to finding some"good news" stories. Julia |

Whereabouts are you? I'm in SK and am shocked at lack of resources or support here. I love my province but its not exactly cutting edge medically. |

I am in Ontario...rural...but only about 1 hour from Kingston, 2 1/2 hours from Toronto. Unfortunately there is a long wait to see a neurologist and my doctor doesnt see the benefit at this time...she is confident I just need time. There is a brain injury support group about 1/2 hour from us but I would be worn out by the car trip....maybe later. |

One thing you may ask your doctor is for you to be on calling for if someone has to cancel their appointment with the neuro. You will be surprise how many times something like this occurs at doctor's offices.
My thoughts and prayers are with you at a time like this. May to have a Happy Holiday Season. Darlene ![]()
